Everyone’s looking at the PS5 Pro as a pricing benchmark based on its technical features, but that misses some key context. The PS5 Pro was always intended to be a niche, enthusiast SKU, something PlayStation likely never expected to sell at, say. 30+ million units. The PS6, on the other hand, will be positioned for mass adoption, much like the base PS5 (which is starting at $600) , which benefits from economies of scale and broader market reach.

Because of the nature of console gens, Rockstar can get away with selling you a PS5, PS6, & PS7 edition. 2/3

The adoption rate of these consoles is going to be so astronomically low that they’ll be forced to make games for the PS5 for years and years in order for games with their overinflated dev costs to make a profit with a large enough audience.
