@ByEricPratt yeah. when SD plays lad, I get the game in Carlsbad but if I go to my cabin in San Bernardino its "LA" so I'm blocked. Won't make that mistake again
My dad is 75 and lives in Iowa. He got the MLB Extra Innings package to watch the Tigers again this year - something he plans his whole day around.
Tonight, Detroit (664 miles from his house) hosted Milwaukee (360 miles from his house). Couldn't watch. Blacked out. (1/2)
@WendyClapp1 I was in the same boat while back, you can have one, it will strengthen your resolve. One won't hurt. Start counting days again tmrw. Look, you made it 9 days after full smoking, surely you can make it 10 after just one cigarette, enjoy... Life is short!!!
@StuartBlitz yeah, i'm starting an app from my mom's garage so that anyone who passes the Iowa bar can practice law anywhere, including, CA, NY and FLA, want to invest?
It’s so dumb that physicians need to get a medical license in every state. They all have different processes and takes forever.
Why doesn’t a startup create a national medical license? Physicians just pay an annual fee and can practice anywhere.
Is anyone building this?
@KobeissiLetter tomahawks were initially designed in the 70's, before GPS and used terrain matching and DSMAC updates... the whole system was to mainly designed to send a nuke to russia that would cost Russia 300X more to shoot down.... they are expendable now. They won't be replaced.
BREAKING: The US has burned through so many munitions in Iran that Trump Administration officials “increasingly assess” that the US could not fully defend Taiwan from a Chinese invasion if it occurred in the near term, per WSJ.
Details include:
1. The US has fired 1,000+ Tomahawk missiles since and 1,500 to 2,000 critical air-defense missiles since the Iran War began
2. Wholly replacing those stockpiles could take up to six years
3. The US has also pulled air-defense equipment from the Pacific to support operations in the Middle East
The Iran War is now on day 54.
@KTLA so... a piece of trailer trash that drives a mini van with 180K miles running the 9th largest economy, which version of twilight zone are we in right now?
@MatrixMysteries your not alone, my buddy is 40 and works at the mall within walking distance of his mommies basement, he is either "working" in quotes or complaining about life... maybe get a real job!
“I’m only living to work. There is no enjoyment.”
She says both her and her husband work nonstop, yet there’s never enough left over to actually enjoy life. Their paychecks don’t create freedom — they only keep the bills paid. America has turned LIVING into mere survival.
@katieporterca@SteveHiltonx people working and living in cars / couch surfing isn't my problem... my problem is with the folks in the tents who think they are above the law. Take away their drugs, r/ to steal, r/ to camp... get sober or get out!
@SteveOnSpeed No. but I saw a guy get another job for 10% more and give notice, then his current employer gave him a 15% raise so he stayed and then got let go 4 months later > be careful
After Wednesday night’s gubernatorial debate, we want to hear from you. Which candidate earned your support, and what part of the debate helped make up your mind? #CAGovDebate
@WallStreetApes econ majors have been on the squirm for about 15 years, add in that he went to a liberal school, most likely is anti-corporate, no more g-jobs for YT and there you have it... UCLAz ladies and gentlemen
American is a Business Economics graduate from UCLA
He has been applying for jobs for 228 days. He isn’t even looking for specific to his major anymore, he’s applying to any job
He had a 4.0 GPA and still can’t get a job, he says this is how bad the job market is that everyone talks about
I think part of the problem is California incentivizes “inclusive recruitment”
Even offering tax incentives for hiring targeted groups
Many California companies pursue DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) goals. This only means ‘non-white’
The odds are greatly stacked against him as a white male in California and in America in general
@10News balboa park museums have become a money grab for well connected liberal Democrats that run the museums behind NGO's. Oh, and the homeless camps... One big liberal democratic mess. Why would I go anywhere near?
Attendance at Balboa Park's museums are down 34% on average since paid parking went into effect inside San Diego's urban park, according to data released Tuesday by the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership. 10news.com/news/local-new…
@JByGodRod amazing how few blacks I see in MLB these days, they say baseball is too expensive... anyway, last nights padres-rockies game was like our Dominicans vs. their Dominicans, with a few whites and other south americans mixed in...
@FixingEducation I worked with phd's from top eng schools, other patent attys and MBA's, every day coming home smarter and more valuable that I was that morning, why in the F would I want to waste my time changing diapers and listening to 8th graders babble on as if they know everything?
If you think teachers have it easy, you’re in luck. America is currently short more than 400,000 teachers. Give it a try! 😏
Or give subbing a try…to get a taste.
@DividendMil the basic equation for finance, including personal finance is F = P (1 + i ) ^^ N, which requires logarithms to solve in some instances. If you can't handle this math... cerada la Boca... why be a fool your whole life b/c you can't handle logarithms?
Apparently everyone on X is a carpenter so I’ll try this again…
I’m 42 years old and I never once had to use the quadratic equation in real life…
That’s why they should teach personal finance in school instead
💰 This guy says you should start taking Social Security at age 62.
He walks through the real math on claiming at 62 vs 67 vs 70 using a clear example: roughly $18k/year at 62, $24k at full retirement age (67), or $36k at 70. He shows the break-even points and reminds us that the average life expectancy here in the US is 79 years old.
It’s not just about getting the bigger monthly check — it depends on your health, how long you live, and your personal situation.
It’s such a practical reminder that these big decisions need to be run with your own numbers, not just generic advice. It’s also wise to run this past a financial adviser.
Would you claim Social Security early (at 62), at full retirement age, or wait until 70? What’s your reasoning?
When the time comes, I’ll be collecting it at 62.
