@BioRaphaella @Pret Well, here I have to defend Pret for a change as I worked in Pret. If piercing are visible, the danger is it could fall into food. And Pret had already 2 customer deaths & over a dozen injuries they ignored until it got public expret.org/2021/05/03/pre… .

@FaceOfPret @Pret I understand the danger of contamination as i have worked in food service, however is it not more likely the bandaid covering non-removable piercings will fall in the food then the piercing itself?

The third panel is almost entirely my own invention. What I was trying to express in this piece was how we absorb the things we love (like artwork, stories, and songs) and as they become part of us we make them our own in our small ways. Weaving them into ourselves as we grow.

The first panel attempts to be a near exact reproduction of the orginal cover artwork for Sabriel by the incomparable Leo and Diane Dillon. The second largely follows in the compositional footsteps of the cover for Lirael but starts to take on more of my personal style.

When I was a kid I first picked up @garthnix Sabriel because I was enchanted by the portrait of a young woman on the cover. Now, years later, the Abhorsen trilogy remain some of my favourite books of all time. I (digitally) painted this piece reflecting on this long lasting love.

When I was younger I was familiar with the infamous Windows "blue screen of death", but now I am pleased to become acquainted with the ever so lovely FastQC blue screen of calm.
