I presided at a Bi-lingual Mass ( English-Italian) at @MsgrMcClancyMHS in honor of Saint Joseph on his feast day last Thursday, March 19th. I also blessed the traditional "Table of Saint Joseph." The entire student body and faculty attended. It was a beautiful celebration!

On Sunday, I joined Project Andrew at the regular Sunday Mass at the San Damiano Mission with the @shalomnewyork community. Through Project Andrew, led by our @BrooklynDiocese Vocations Office young men discerning the priesthood are invited to explore a life dedicated to Jesus Christ. I was inspired and filled with hope by the turnout, and I invite you to join me in praying for an increase in vocations and religious life. To learn more the next Project Andrew event, or about Brooklyn Vocations (@brooklynpriests), visit: dioceseofbrooklyn.org/offices/vocati…

After a long ovation, thousands attending the installation Mass of Archbishop Ronald Hicks broke into “Happy Birthday” for the now-emeritus Archbishop of New York, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, who turns 76 today—the very day his successor begins his ministry.

This afternoon, I led Mass for the faithful of Brooklyn and Queens at St. Thomas Aquinas in Flatlands, in celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The work of Dr. King was founded on his strong belief in the human dignity of all people, made in the image and likeness of God. May our lives continue to be guided by this notion of respect, and may our actions inspire others to work to drive out hatred. #MLK2026 #MLK

Last Friday night, I joined the @BrooklynDiocese's Youth and Young Adults Ministry at their Holy Hour to mark the end of the #JubileeYear2025 at The Cathedral Basilica of Saint James. It was great to see more than 70 people in attendance from various parishes in the Diocese including Our Lady of Mount Carmel - Astoria, Regina Pacis, and St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. It was great to listen to the testimonies of Elvis Toribio and Amy Vu, about their pilgrimage to Rome earlier this year. The young people of Brooklyn and Queens are truly an inspiration.

Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a “Special Year of St. Francis” to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the saint’s death. During this time of grace, which will extend until January 2027, the faithful are granted the opportunity to obtain a plenary indulgence. This Franciscan Jubilee Year, considered a gift for the entire Church and an occasion for authentic spiritual renewal, was inaugurated on Jan. 10 with a decree issued by the Apostolic Penitentiary of the Holy See. Until Jan. 10 of next year, the faithful can obtain this grace under the usual conditions — sacramental confession, Communion, and prayer for the intentions of the pope — by making a pilgrimage to any Franciscan conventual church or place of worship dedicated to St. Francis anywhere in the world. Furthermore, the elderly, the sick, and those who, for serious reasons, cannot leave their homes can obtain the plenary indulgence by spiritually joining in the jubilee celebrations and offering their prayers, pains, or sufferings to God. In a world where “the virtual takes over the real, disagreements and social violence are part of everyday life, and peace becomes more insecure and distant every day, this Year of St. Francis spurs all of us, each according to our possibilities, to imitate the poor man of Assisi, to form ourselves as far as possible on the model of Christ,” the decree states. For the Order of Friars Minor, this time is also an opportunity for the faithful to become “models of holiness of life and constant witnesses of peace.” On the occasion of this anniversary, Pope Leo XIV addressed a letter to the ministers general of the Franciscan Family Conference in which he emphasized that “in this era, marked by so many seemingly endless wars, by internal and social divisions that create distrust and fear, he continues to speak. Not because he offers technical solutions, but because his life points to the authentic source of peace.” In this regard, he highlighted that St. Francis reminds us that “peace with God, peace among people, and peace with creation are inseparable dimensions of a single call to universal reconciliation.” catholicnewsagency.com/news/269025/Le…

🏀 Holiday hoops at its finest. The 55th annual Msgr. King Memorial Tournament lit up St. Thomas Aquinas once again. This year, @stedmundprep made it to the final trying to bring the title back to Brooklyn, but @HolyTrinityDHS came out on top after four days of electric action. @JMMancari breaks it down: bit.ly/4sDCMRW
