I have been told a peaceful protest planned to be held tomorrow at Ramlila Maidan against UGC Guidelines, with a demand to withdraw it, is being discouraged by authorities citing security reasons and some of those attending have been put under house arrest. Protests are an integral part of democratic process and Delhi has seen multiple protests almost everyday, it is to peacefully gather and register their demands to a government which has been silent. Shame on Delhi Police for this partisan behaviour.

यूजीसी पर दो शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शनों से भयाक्रांत भाजपा ने लगभग हर आयोजक एवम् वक्ता को हाउस अरेस्ट या अरेस्ट कर लिया है। बात यह है कि कल मोदी जी दिल्ली में ही ‘ई रिक्शा’ के पिंक लाइन रूट का उद्घाटन और फिर एक रैली को भी संबोधित करेंगे। ऐसे में रामलीला मैदान और जंतर मंतर में पहुँचने वाली भीड़ कहीं ‘यूजीसी पर आपका क्या विचार है’ न कर डालती, अतः हाउस अरेस्ट के चोंचले किए जा रहे हैं। मोदी जी के ‘वायरल करवा दूँगा’ दल के लोग पिछले पचास दिन से वायरल कराने की पूरी चेष्टा कर रहे हैं, हो नहीं पा रहे हैं, तो सुधिजनों ने कहा होगा कि यूजीसी वालों को उठा लेने के बाद, केवल आप ही आप होंगे टीवी पर। प्रयास अच्छा है सर, परिणाम अच्छे नहीं होंगे। मुल्लों को माथे पर चढ़ा कर मुतवाते रहिए, तरुणों को कटवाते रहिए, भीमवादियों से देवी-देवताओं को गाली दिलवाते रहिए, सामान्य वर्ग को अब उसके दूसरे मौलिक संवैधानिक अधिकार से भी वंचित कर दीजिए! पहले - समानता के अधिकार - की तो आपने बत्ती बना कर हमारी *^ में डाल ही दी है, दूसरा भी डाल दीजिए। नमन रहेगा मोदी जी! नमन रहेगा @BJP4India वालों! तुम लोग इतने बड़े फट्टू निकलोगे, ये नहीं सोचा था।

पिछले दो दिनों से ऋषिकेश में हूं। आंखों देखा सच्चाई बता रहा हूँ:- यहाँ के रेस्टोरेंट्स में “ब्राह्मण” वेटर का काम कर रहे हैं। ना कोई शोषण का रोना, ना पीड़ित होने का बहाना, कोई विक्टिम कार्ड नहीं। माथे में तिलक लगाकर शिखा रखे, जनेऊ पहनकर, कर्म ही पूजा है के भाव से लोगों को खाना परोस रहे हैं, उनके कप प्लेट उठा रहे हैं। इसमें ग़लत नहीं है। मेहनत करके खा रहे हैं। लेकिन जब इनके बच्चों को पढ़ने के के लिए स्कालरशिप नहीं। इनके ख़िलाफ़ देशभर में राजनीतिक नफरत फैलाई जाएगी, जातिगत क़ानून बनाए जाएंगे, इन्हें शोषक बताया जाएगा, जन्मजात करोड़पति बताए जाएँगे, तब जरूरी हो जाता है कि सच्चाई को सामने लाया जाए।
