למי שזה לא ברור כבר, מכבי ת"א סל הם לא נציגים של המדינה ולא בטיח. הם חלק מארגון שהחליט שהוגנות ספורטיבית זה לא בשבילם. אני אישית מעולם לא ראיתי מישהו שיוצא נגד זה - לא מהתקשורת וגם בקושי אוהדים. אז בשעה טובה אגיד את זה - מכבי ת"א ממזמן הפכה לבושה של המדינה.

@sixineurope @ALeibovici צודק, אבל זה מעולם לא היה החשש. יש קריקטורה של שמאל במערב - שמנסה תכלס להגיד שהמערב (שמבחינתם הוא כמובן האימפריאליסט הרשע) לא יפיל מדינה גרעינית. הם צודקים - אבל הם טועים בזה שזה טוב. איראן גרעינית = משטר בטוח

זמן טוב לשאלה קיומית - נניח ולאיראן היה אטום והיא היתה משגרת טיל כזה - איך עובד היירוט? אם מיירטים מחוץ לאטמוספירה זה נחשב בטוח למרות החומר שמתפזר? אם מיירטים גבוה מעל שטח המדינה זה גורם לפיזור גדול יותר? נניח שיש פגיעה - באיזה רמה זה צפוי להשפיע על מי שבמקלטים ולכמה זמן?

@Krzws1 @cw_131007 @fmeetsdata first of all, those games are extra, not universally played by each team. in some ways it's a punishment for not being able to qualify without playoffs. also, 5->7 means 4 extra games (2 against each extra team) also- 5 teams is also not good, for the reason i said before

@Botzer_Ophir @cw_131007 @fmeetsdata You have same thing already with 5 teams in group that one team doesn't play in the final day. And those are not too big, it's literally just 2 more games. Same games that are already played in play-offs

We believe FIFA should re-evaluate their practice of putting the hosts automatically to Pot 1. Especially if there is more than 1 host. They already have the advantage of not needing to go through qualifiers + the home field advantage at the tournament. Assigning them to Pot 1 creates unbalanced groups + the knock-on effect on the unbalanced KO bracket.

@ALeibovici @sixineurope הבנת נכון לדעתי. יש שתי אפשרויות תכלס א - הטיל חס ושלום נחת, כלל חומר הנפץ (שמקיף את החומר הגרעיני) מתפוצץ, דוחף את החומר הגרעיני לתוך עצמו, יש פיצוץ גרעיני ב - טיל חץ מיירט אותו, רק חלק מחומר הנפץ, אם בכלל, מתפוצץ, החומר הגרעיני לא נדחף מספיק, אין פיצוץ

@Botzer_Ophir @sixineurope נכון. אבל ממה שהבנתי האטומים צריכים ״דחיפה״ מכל הכיוונים בו זמנית. כלומר, כל חומר הנפץ שעוטף את הליבה מכל הכיוונים צריך להתפוצץ במקביל כדי לייצר דחיסה מקסימלית שתיצור את אפקט השרשרת. עוד פעם, אני רחוק מלהבין בתחום. כותב רק על בסיס מה שקראתי.

@Botzer_Ophir @cw_131007 @fmeetsdata I feel like the reason they are taking it into account is that the big teams won’t take it seriously otherwise—which is weird since these team are already most likely to qualify traditionally (see the fact that we had go down to Sweden to get a team to qualify through NL).

@Botzer_Ophir @cw_131007 @fmeetsdata Preliminary round could be the Nations League. 8 groups of 4 based on NL classification. Group winners go through, 2nd place plays at home against 3rd place from another group in qualification playoffs. All games matter, both in NL and WCQ, and you get the most competitive field.

@Botzer_Ophir @Ilovecandies92 @fmeetsdata Yes, they changed it from points earned in the qualifying to FIFA rankings because Portugal and Italy were drawn together in 2022's play-offs.

@Botzer_Ophir @Ilovecandies92 @fmeetsdata They should've kept the 2022 seeding method for these play-offs instead of changing it to favour all of the big teams who didn't qualify bar Turkey because they were all away in these play-offs which is another issue because all of the finals should be held on neutral ground.

@eddiemikus @cw_131007 @fmeetsdata I would obviously prefer not taking into account the UNL at all, but given the constraint of taking it into account, this would probably be the best and simplest way to implement it

@eddiemikus @cw_131007 @fmeetsdata Generally speaking, giving the UNL winners/finalists/whatever a direct WC qualification. It targets ONLY the best teams (which is what brings money) while not interfering with pots and others. And the UNL teams obviously won't be in the qualifiers

@Botzer_Ophir @fmeetsdata Can't have teams for same confederation in a group except for UEFA. Having 3 teams from CONCACAF as hosts has diminished the quality from that federation that qualified

@cw_131007 @AceRothstein197 @fmeetsdata If we take the best 32 teams, that's the draw we get. Yes - we have clear favourites, but the pot 3 and 4 teams certainly can put up a fight

@cw_131007 @AceRothstein197 @fmeetsdata it's possible to achieve this by eliminating more weak teams before the GS if we want my system, with 4 teams per group, we need 32 teams (4*8).
