Always bet the break

Don't bet the break... (Cycling betting, Strategy, Game Theory)

I had some fun with the “Thomas in Ineos leadership” move, but it should be said that he openly campaigned for them to have a sprinter for multiple years (for overall team benefits, purpose, etc.), worked to get Ewan in, and surely worked for Welsford’s signing.

I’m happy to reward a PRT that has spent 15 years in the peloton, developing riders, over a team that is in its 2nd year and doesn’t really have noticeably better results, but is splashing cash on name-brand riders (and switching flags) to try to score an invite. YMMV.

Continue to believe S9 of 2019 Vuelta was the trailer for the next 3+ years of GTs: bad weather, losing pictures, the Soler meme, Nairo in green, Roglic crashing, early TGH promise, Pogačar winning… And relevant for S5 - small guy tall bike. Chaves on Howson’s!
