I give up. I've heard / read 10 times this morning that cutting the fuel excise by 26 c/ L is inflationary !! ?? So paying $ 2.34 / L ( instead of $ 2.60 ) WHEN IT WAS $ 1.60 a month ago and will keep going up & up is flooding the economy with too much spending power ? How !????

@Matt__Welsh_ 1000% agree Matt. That 100/1 shot finished last because it was a 100/1 chance ( not because it burnt itself out intentionally trying to derail Pride Of Jenni ) As you say , the W/ Bott horses tend to mainly be front running horses. I'd be really surprised if they'd rig a race

Aust fuel excise halved to 26.3c/litre. Will save av hhold ~$9wk & cut infl by 0.5%. But on current petrol prices hholds will still be $22/wk worse off, infl will still rise >5%, it won’t prevent RBA hikes, wont do anything to save fuel & will be forgotten if petrol keep rising.

@OMGTheMess Good question Old Soldier. Just on the " madness and mis understanding " of the role of interest rates. The TV news this morning was saying that if the punters get 26 c / L off $ 2.60/ L petrol ( and $ 3.30 diesel ) all that EXTRA MONEY in the economy will be inflationary !!!!!!!

@bella_anderson4 And another reason why Bella (who is amazingly good at accessing horses pre race ) doesn't get more support by the racing industry is the industry doesn't like winners. Too many punters winning creates another " hurdle " for them.

Why do we need to be really careful? Trainers should be aware it is not “having a go” at them.

@bella_anderson4 1000 % agree Bella. Punters are the life line of the racing industry. No punters = no racing. Surely the punter deserves to know ( pre race , and not 24 hours pre race , immediately pre race ) if a horse is showing signs of running below expectations.

@TMFScottP Have to agree Scott In our exchange recently ( when I asked why the fuel prices went up so much before we even had 1 litre of disruption to supply ) we both agreed that it made sense to " ration " the fuel we do have via higher prices. There is nothing to gain until supply fixed
