@TheCalvinCooli1 For counties to transfer to another state would require both state legislatures and Congress to approve, a process similar in difficulty to passing constitutional amendments. I think it's very unlikely to happen.

The Calvin Coolidge Project@TheCalvinCooli1·
Let’s talk about the future of the country There has been a lot of talk about redistricting but that is only the tip of the iceberg In the next 5 to 10 years this will be a major issue Take the “Greater Idaho” movement, for example. In Oregon, 13 counties have already voted in favor of exploring a move to join Idaho. In Illinois, several counties along the western border have held serious discussions about separating from the state and potentially joining Iowa. One Iowa lawmaker, Taylor Collins, even proposed studying what absorbing those counties might look like. In West Virginia State Senator Chris Rose introduced a resolution inviting 33 counties in Virginia and 3 in Maryland to consider joining the State of West Virginia And in New Mexico, lawmakers have filed legislation that could allow Lea County to leave and join Texas an idea that has drawn support from Texas leadership including Speaker Dustin Burrows Folks these are just 4 cases In the future, I can easily see several red counties in blue states try to leave and I can see blue counties in red states try to leave. For example, several counties in California trying to join another state such as Arizona or Nevada. In Colorado, some counties on the Eastern side would try to join Nebraska and Kansas while the Western Part would try to join Wyoming or Utah. While counties in Southern Illinois, and Southern Virginia would try to leave or even form their own states to counter Democrats from adding D.C., and Puerto Rico it’s not hard to imagine this trend accelerating. Red counties in blue states may push to leave, while blue counties in red states do the same. Perhaps we will one day get a state called Lincoln or Jefferson. If you don't know what I am talking about go look it up. Again I think we will see this in the next 5 to 10 years. President Trump should support this. Anyways that is my take on the future.

Got a lot of new Star Trek fan followers these last couple of weeks! I’m curious, what’s your favorite episode? Mine is “The Inner Light” as it gives so much introspective depth to Jean-Luc Picard as a character.

🚨Just in: California Republican Assembly Leader James Gallagher has unveiled a plan that would officially split California up into two states: “The people of inland California have been overlooked for too long. It’s time for a two-state solution.”

@MorseNewsTV Work requirement is fine, but a time limit makes no sense. Working class Americans need some kind of help with housing, especially in expensive areas.

@Aaronal16 This is proof that it's not a "cultural" issue. How much more conservative can you get than Iran? We're in decline as a world civilization just like Spengler believed.

Iran's population growth rate is expected to reach zero by 2041. Births have fallen a massive 31% since 2016. Iranian authorities have responded to the crisis by offering marriage loans & housing deposits for families with 3 children, to little effect. intellinews.com/iran-s-birth-r…

@Aaronal16 I favor the Spenglerian take on this. We're in the late stage of our civilization. The Romans didn't have our sophisticated statistics but they knew there were fewer children by about the 3rd to 4th centuries. The population is going to decrease from now on.

As I’ve said again & again the solution is cultural. It’s not just about young men wanting to have many kids. It’s about them being honest with a potential spouse & both being clear in expectations. If both want a certain home life, lay this out clearly & work towards that.

This article actually does a good job summing up why a number of young women choose not to have children.  Young moms they talk to tell them it is not worth it if they don’t have the right partner, resources or support. More common than people think. people.com/woman-says-hav…

@JMGreerWriter Not necessarily. I was working a miserable near minimum wage job and frankly enjoyed the rest. My employer qualified for funds and continued paying us, although if they had furloughed us we would have gotten the $600 per week extra.

A lot of people in the managerial class adored the Covid fiasco, since it allowed them to work from home and engage in vast amounts of performative virtue signaling. It was the people in the working classes who had a miserable time of it.

President Trump just proposed capping interest rates on credit cards at 10% - the historical norm, but that all changed in 1980 when Congress passed the monetary control act. The average American currently pays 28% interest on their credit card.

@ForMcguffin Julian tried to undercut and adapt the Christian values that were attractive and popular with the people (like charity for the poor.) If he'd had more time history might have been very different.

Baby boomers are like “back in our day the music was respectable!! All our pedophile anthems were about little girls not little boys!” Neil diamond also sang a song “sweet Caroline” about Caroline Kennedy when she was 6. “Hands touching hands reaching out touching you.” 6…. It’s always been insanely obvious btw and still is. You have to try hard to not see this stuff.
