France’s President Emmanuel Macron says France would be “there” for Greece if Türkiye ever challenged its sovereignty. At the same time, France is expanding its military footprint in the Eastern Mediterranean - with troops set to be stationed in South Cyprus under a new SOFA agreement, adding to its existing access at the Evangelos Florakis Naval Base in Mari. Once again, the Greek Cypriot administration is allowing external powers to militarise Cyprus - an island where Türkiye is already a guarantor power under international law. Then came Hakan Fidan’s response. The Turkish Foreign Minister called France a “small European country” and made Türkiye’s position clear: “Don’t hide behind the US. If you can, come and do it yourself.” Türkiye will continue to defend its interests, its rights, the Turkish Cypriot people, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. France has no business interfering in Cyprus.

Three aircraft carrier strike groups are currently operating in the Middle East. Combined, the Sailors and Marines from these units consume over 12,000 eggs each day.

Πρώτον, διότι καμία ελληνική κυβέρνηση δεν έχει αντιληφθεί το ίχνος που η γλώσσα , η ιστορία και ο πολιτισμός μας έχουν αφήσει στο διάβα της ιστορίας. Η σημασία που οι Κινέζοι δίνουν στον πολιτισμό μας τους αφήνει παγερά αδιάφορους. Η ιστορική σύνδεση που οι Κινέζοι επιχειρούν με τους παλαιούς - όπως ο δικός τους- πολιτισμούς, κάνουν τις κυβερνήσεις μας να χασμουριούνται.. Είμαι απόλυτα σίγουρος ότι και κτήριο να μας παραχωρήσουν οι Κινέζοι και χρήματα για την έναρξη του να μας δώσουν , και στα πόδια μας να πέσουν, εμείς θα αρνούμαστε διαρρηδην να φτιάξουμε πολιτισμό στην Κίνα. Δεν θέλουμε. Δεν γνωρίζουμε τι είναι αυτό .. οι πολιτικοί μας έχουν προσωπικές ατζέντες. Θα ήταν πολυτέλεια μεγάλη να ενδιαφερθούν για τον γλύπτη Φωκά της ελληνιστικής Υεμένης, τους είναι αδιάφοροι οι πάπυροι της Πέτρας και οι ελληνιστικοί Βούδες του Μπαμιάν.. Αμ, οι εφοπλιστές μας; Ενδιαφέρονται; Όπως έχω προσωπικά διαπιστώσει, ενδιαφέρονται. Αρκεί να υπάρξει κάποια συζήτηση με τους κυβερνητικούς μας. Κάποια ενθάρρυνση και κάποια ηθική επιβράβευση.. Κρίνοντας πάντως ,τόσο από την τύχη της προσπάθειας μου για ίδρυση αρχαιολογικής σχολής στην Ρώμη το 2000 - οι Ιταλοί μας έδιναν κτήριο του 17ου αιώνα- αλλά και την φρίκη με την οποία πρεσβεία Αγκυρας, Φανάρι και σύσσωμη η ελληνική κυβέρνηση το 2009,με αντιμετώπισαν όταν έφτιαξα το Σισμανόγλειο στην Πόλη με χρήματα μεγάλων ιδρυμάτων, επιχειρηματιών και μεγάλων ελληνικών εταιριών, ευτυχώς χωρίς να ρωτήσω κανέναν πριν το ολοκληρώσω, αντιλαμβάνομαι ότι οι έλληνες πολιτικοί θα χρειαστούν ενδεχομένως τους εφοπλιστές μας στις επόμενες εκλογές και τίποτε περισσότερο.. Θα μου πείτε: και τι να κάνουμε; Η απάντηση είναι απλή και απευθύνεται κυρίως σε κρατικούς λειτουργούς: αν είσαστε σίγουροι για την άποψη σας και τις προτάσεις σας, εξαντλήστε όλα τα περιθώρια με τους πολιτικούς σας προϊστάμενους. Μην σταματάτε.Αναζητείστε συμμάχους και επιμείνετε. Τα χρονικά μας περιθώρια είναι λίγα. Ο πληθυσμός μας, κυρίως οι νέοι, φεύγουν στο εξωτερικό. Αν υπηρετείτε στο εξωτερικό, εξαντλείστε τα περιθώρια σας για την διατήρηση των ισχυρών δεσμών τους με την Ελλάδα. Θεσμοποιείστε την συνεργασία σας μαζί τους. Σταθείτε κοντά τους και εμβαθύνετε την σχέση αυτών και των παιδιών τους με την Ελλάδα. Μικρά είναι τα περιθώρια που μας έχουν απομείνει. Όσο για τους πολιτικούς μας.. προσπαθείστε να τους πείσετε για το δίκιο σας αλλά θα πρότεινα να τους φέρετε ενώπιον τετελεσμένων αποδεχόμενοι, ίσως, να πιστωθούν οι ίδιοι τα κόπια σας. Για την Ελλάδα θα είναι…

Τυχαία πληροφορούμαι ότι η Κίνα ανοίγει πολιτιστικό κέντρο στην Αθήνα.Πενταόροφο και πολυτελές.Μην ξεχνούμε τα άριστα ελληνικά των Κινέζων διπλωματών καθώς και την συστηματική τους δουλειά σε όλους τους τομείς.Εμείς δεν θα φτιάξουμε ποτέ ελληνικό πολιτιστικό κέντρο στην Κίνα. ⬇️

@CMouroutis IMO. US control over the F-35s to be sold to GR is built into the aircraft’s core architecture with its 'kill switch'. Control over the Eurofighter for TK is complex, ultimately more diplomatic/logistical than a remote software "kill switch". So TK gains more strategic autonomy.

44 Eurofighters in 3x the price that we (Greece) will pay for 20+20 F35.

@clashreport However, some people whose opinion is valuable see it otherwise. Especially one argues that Turkiye does not see any interest in involvement. Such a view makes me sleep better.

@clashreport I specialise in Greece. I am almost certain that the Greek government & some major Greek media are lulled into the illusion that with their new military kit & alliances they can defeat Turkiye. If so Greeks will fight alone, lose territorial waters, land & much sovereignty 🐏🌪️

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Israel-Cyprus-Greece alliance: This is not only a source of concern for Türkiye. All Muslim countries in the region are seriously worried and asking questions, especially considering Israel’s recent expansionist and aggressive policies in the region. It is not correct to claim that Türkiye is unnecessarily creating concern here. There are realities, there are facts, there are people’s concerns. Türkiye is capable of protecting itself. But there are countries in the region that are weaker in nature and look at this military alliance with concern.
