A pleasure to be in beautiful Skopje 🇲🇰. North Macedonia is a highly valued Ally that contributes to our shared security in many ways, supporting NATO’s deterrence and defence & security and stability in the Western Balkans. You are also a steadfast supporter of Ukraine.

I spoke with @RTErdogan about Iran and the security situation in the region.  We both agree on the importance of NATO’s 360-degree approach to security, and that we are always ready to deter and defend against any threat, from any direction.

This morning, we gathered at NATO to mark the 4th anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. NATO stood with Ukraine 🇺🇦 from the beginning. We stand with you today. And we will stand with you throughout the challenges ahead.

Very good meeting of NATO Defence Ministers today. We discussed real progress made as Allies increase defence investment, ramp up defence industry, and continue to support Ukraine But I also saw a real shift in mindset. Unity of vision on a much stronger European defence within NATO. Europe is really stepping up. We are working together - Europe & North America - to deliver effective deterrence and defence

Today NATO launched Arctic Sentry, a new military activity that leverages our strength by bringing together NATO and Allied activities across the Arctic and High North We are committed to ensuring Arctic security – and the security of the whole Alliance – together

Good talk with ROK President @Jaemyung_Lee today ROK is a close NATO partner, and Euro-Atlantic security & Indo-Pacific security are closely linked. That’s why we are deepening our dialogue and cooperation, including on defence industry

Yesterday I visited Chernihiv region 🇺🇦 with @andrii_sybiha and @V_Chaus where residents told us about how they’ve been surviving the war. I saw the school basement where an entire village was held captive for a month in 2022 by Russian troops, and the Invincibility Points that serve as resilience hubs and help keep people supplied during outages now. I saw how the armed forces are countering Russian drones. And I met with university students who are determined to play their part in a peaceful, prosperous future.

During my visit to Kyiv today I saw a civilian heating plant targeted by Russian missiles. No military value whatsoever - attacks meant only to make people suffer. But Ukraine stands strong. And NATO stands with you.

It’s always important to visit Kyiv and meet my friend @ZelenskyyUa to reaffirm our continued support for Ukraine 🇺🇦. Your friends and partners in #NATO will continue to stand firm alongside you.

Good to see 🇩🇰 PM Mette Frederiksen @Statsmin this morning in Brussels. We’re working together to ensure that the whole of NATO is safe & secure and will build on our cooperation to enhance deterrence & defence in the Arctic. Denmark continues to make robust contributions to our shared security and is ramping up investment to do even more!

Just met w/ 🇩🇰 @troelslundp & Greenland 🇬🇱 FM Vivian Motzfeldt. We discussed how important the Arctic - including Greenland - is to our collective security & how 🇩🇰 is stepping up investments in key capabilities. We’ll continue to work together as Allies on these important issues

Spoke with @POTUS regarding the security situation in Greenland and the Arctic. We will continue working on this, and I look forward to seeing him in Davos later this week.

It was an honour to meet with King Philippe of the Belgians and Princess Elisabeth 🇧🇪 today. I thanked them for Belgium’s contributions to #NATO as a staunch Ally and for being an excellent host nation to our Alliance.
