It's 100% alarming now if you are STL City and its staff, front office, and ownership. The amount of "non-contact" injuries there is scary. What a bummer for Celio.

@SES_podcastSTL Agreed. Has there been a coach who has implemented a rest/recovery-first style of training? I’d love to see the results of a a pro level team that rests, avoids contact, light conditioning, etc. Surly this has happened somewhere, right?

@stlCITYsc I feel terrible for Célio. Such a positive person….hate to see him go through setbacks like this.

Célio Pompeu suffered a non-contact ACL injury in training last week and will be sidelined for an extended period. He will begin his treatment and rehabilitation process immediately with the full support of everyone at the club. We wish him a full and speedy recovery.

@j_clem I appreciate your optimism. I truly do. Unfortunately, it really feels like we need 3 points Saturday just to keep the casual fan interested in this team. Pretty sad this is where we are as a club in season 4.

We all talked about how difficult the first stretch of opponents were based on results from 2025. But if you look at what the first four teams #AllForCITY has faced in 2026 have done in league play, it’s been more daunting than I expected. I know the reality is that St. Louis only has 1 point. But, I still think there is room for some level headed optimism given the performance in 3/4 of the games.

Officially day 45 of asking CITY to announce a new DP striker on a permanent deal that can actually score goals. I will not rest until this is completed. There are currently 37 players with more goals scored in MLS play than all of CITY’s has scored combined in 4 games.

@MattBakerSTL @FlyoverFooty @stlCITYsc I think it’s obvious that with our roster this year we raised our floor, but lowered our ceiling. I hate to say Saturday is a must-win, but if we can’t get 3 points it’s going to start to really feel like another lost season.

I’ve maintained these 1st 4 @stlCITYsc games were likely the most difficult 4 game stretch of our season. LAFC: 4-0 1st team to keep 4 straight clean sheets while wining 4, to open a season in MLS history. Seattle: 3-1 w/3 clean sheets & only a loss to the team they haven’t beaten away in 15 yrs. San Diego: 3-0-1 w/3 clean sheets kept & a +8GD Charlotte: 1-1-2. The only underperforming club of the bunch and the 1 pt CITY has taken. NER next week offers what I’d say is the closest level of competition to STL since Charlotte for where we realistically are and should expect 3 points from - especially at home. All this to say, there are issues with our roster that I detailed my thoughts on yesterday but the schedule’s done us no favors either beyond testing #AllForCITY against some of the very best early on… and asking patience of the fanbase, which is more of a bigger ask after the last few years.

Looking back at this specific moment from last night. A wonderful ball floated in from the left by Hartel. Unsure if Durkin got a touch but it was disallowed due to what appeared to be contact between Baumgartl and an LAFC player. It looks to be soft contact from the side/behind; the defender was looking for it IMO. Would have really liked to see VAR recommend a second look at this. #AllForCITY

@CITY_Fan__ @RedSmokeRising @joey_zana My theory on coaches is they’ve continually hired whoever the cheapest option would be, even after interviewing more serious candidates that would’ve been a better fit. But they won’t ever disclose that so we’re free to speculate on how dumb they actually are

Despite the frustration, #AllForCITY head coach Yoann Damet told reporters on Saturday night that there are positives to take from the loss. He spoke about the difficult start to the season, in terms of opponents, while remaining optimistic about the rest of the season.

@cfreeman6 @RedSmokeRising @joey_zana Agreed. Not only do we bargain bin players, we do the same with head coaches. Maybe we should try hiring a coach with actual MLS head coaching experience? Or maybe those coaches are too smart to come here to our dumpster fire, which would be equally concerning.

But I think the problem started in the Olof tenure and that’s that the owners refuse to spend and get quality players. We’d rather bargain bin and fill out the roster with rejects than do our own scouting and spending. Shows on field

Under Olof, nobody had a clue—including Olof. So I guess that’s a positive? If we can’t beat Revs at home, then this fanbase is going to lose all interest.
