@JessieTweeting I don’t know how it is now, but when I was in Cadets, I was able to use them for school credits. Make it so you must do something like that, joining a reserve army unit, or a volunteer fire dept. at 16, etc. in order to graduate.

With a build date of June 11, 1996, Red turned 30 today.
I’ve put 200k+ under my ass in the 8 years I’ve had this truck. A few new dents and scratches, but many memories. @Ford, you made one hell of a machine!

During Reach's early development, I made the original proposal to have George sacrifice himself in orbit and then have the covenant fleet show up, giving the unspoken implication that "You sacrificed your best guy and barely made dent. You can't win this war".
But my original pitch was "You leave Jorge in the Covenant bridge, he locks the door and is defending this room to ensure the ship stays on course, and the player runs back to the hangar and jumps" (all in game), we'd then transition to a first person cinematic while the player was falling.
The story team pushed back with a counter-proposal insisting Jorge get this monologue. I didn't agree at first so we debate/argued/etc. That happened a lot. In the end, it was the right choice (I was wrong), and it made the moment so much better.
That was the cool thing about old school Bungie. All the best moments were an amalgamation of proposals and counter-proposals, to ultimately arrive at the best version of the idea.

The Prime Minister talked about a "middle power coalition" 6 months ago. Still no definition of who's in it.
We in the CANZUK movement offered help and 20+ years of research toward that. Our offer hasn't been taken up.

I always hear people proudly saying “nuclear power is good, actually” as if there’s some massive organized opposition to it and we inhabit a culture in which the badness of nuclear power is smothering conventional wisdom. But that hasn’t been the case in like 40 years, right

I basically think the average voter is pretty wrong on: 1) Nuclear power (it's good) 2) Foreign aid (we spend very little on it and should spend more) 3) Climate change (a majority say they're not willing to have any additional amounts of their tax money spent on climate. The national average willingness to pay for things that help with climate is ~$300 per year) 4) Immigration (I think it's broadly good across the board, and definitely good to get more high skilled immigrants specifically) 5) Price controls in general (bad!) I'd like governments to patiently nod along to voter concerns but quietly approve more nuclear, spend more on foreign aid, pay way more on climate, and allow at least more high skilled immigrants. I just flat out think it's wrong for politicians to have 1-1 similar views to the median voter and sometimes they need to diverge.
