@ChRaggie @SwithernC I decide what is & isn't necessary to post just like you do. I don't take kindly to people trying to censure me. Let's leave it there.

I respectfully disagree. I find it in the public interest to do so. Biti is a high profile politician. He is currently leading CDF, which claims to be vehemently opposed to #CAB3. He regularly grants anti-regime press interviews. The most recent of these was with the Daily Telegraph's Senior Foreign Correspondent reporting on current attempts to topple ED. Surely that has to be more dangerous than discussing potential permutations of a post ED political landscape should he fall. That disclosure highlights potential rapprochement behind the scenes & can illuminate current & future political trends. Viewed in that context, why, in terms of objectivity, would you elevate my terms to that level or above it? By what rationale? I find your response to my post disappointing, a subtle dig & attempt to gaslight me. This is a personal post. Your understanding & application of the principle that you have highlighted appears shallow, misconceived, opportunistic & baseless.

@daddyhope In Africa the moment they know you are an innovator they try by all means to bring you and your innovation down..they would rather give that deal to a Chinese or the Bill Gates of this world.

Where are Africa’s billionaires and tech leaders? While Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are competing to connect Africa through cutting-edge satellite technology, many of Africa’s wealthiest individuals remain focused on traditional sectors such as mining, banking, telecommunications, real estate, and retail. The future belongs to those who create technology, not just those who consume it. Africa needs more innovators, inventors, engineers, and technology investors willing to think beyond the next quarterly profit and build for generations.
Business Insider Africa@BusInsiderSSA

Jeff Bezos moves to challenge Elon Musk’s Starlink in Africa with first satellite gateway in Kenya🇰🇪 Jeff Bezos is ramping up his challenge to Elon Musk’s Starlink in Africa, with Amazon seeking regulatory approval to establish its first satellite gateway on the continent in Kenya🇰🇪, a move that could reshape competition in the region’s fast-growing satellite internet market. shorturl.at/QTakw

Zvisungo zvenyika, Mhiko ( Covenants) , should continue to guide us , but have we ever had a national conversation beyond Constitution making that establishes our national value system and agrees on these binding and irrevocable agreements and covenants ? During the liberation war we had a sense of this and even understood who the Matriarchs and Patriarchs of this Country were and of course they have since been joined by a lot many others . These are the Spiritual Guardians of our Country established over our territory Zimbabwe , to continue to guide us and jealously protect our Nationhood , Territorial integrity and sovereignty . Every nation seemingly has these Guardians & Principalities as part of the Spiritual hierarchy to the Almighty God Himself , just as we recite The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and forget to insert our own ancestors ! One day soon beyond Constitutional bickering we need a conversation on this , Mhiko Dzenyika , Zvisungo zvedu , Nhaka yedu sevanhu . Manje manje .

My Dinner in Abuja At a dinner at a restaurant in Abuja, I sat across the table from an esteemed Nigerian. Let’s call him Abubakar (His real name starts with an M.) “You are from Zimbabwe? Beautiful country! “ he said with Nigerian vigor and bombast. I thought he was just trying to be complimentary and engaging in small talk, which I have little time for. Tell me more, I probed him, and boy, didn’t he surprise me 😂 “I used to drive from Harare on that highway via Karoi to Makuti and all the way to Kariba, that biggest man made Lake in the world”, he said with his eyes lighting up! “You sure sound like you have been to Zim, for sure.” I said. “What were you upto in Zim?” I proved further. “Zimbabwe trained us banking”, he said. He further explained that he was one of the executives that opened Nigeria’s first discount house - First Securities Discount House Limited (FSDH). In the 90s, Nigeria started deregulations and reforms of the financial sector and FSDH was the first licenced discount house. “Nick Vingirai trained us. I was at Intermarket for training for 6 months. Vingirai himself gave me one of his cars, and I used to drive around Zimbabwe in it,” he said. It turned out to be an interesting conversation. It was at that point that I realised how Africa is so intertwined. Nick Vingirai taught Nigerians how to set up and run discount houses and helped them introduce new financial instruments in their market.

Arrived at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja yesterday. Looks like this hotel is a haven for political big shots in Nigeria. Every visiting dignitary and who is who in Nigeria seems to have stayed here. Nice hotel though. Looks like it’s owned by Tony Elumelu since his portraits are prominent all round. Big power problems in Nigeria - power goes out every now and then. Twice, power went out when bags were rolling on the carousel at the airport. Power outage a big issue here.

Yes, I celebrate Easter, and I know the Christian community will be celebrating the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, I don't know who came up with this Easter bunny and egg tradition, or what its significance is.

John the Baptist wore clothes made from camel's hair and had a leather belt around his waist. His diet consisted of locusts and wild honey. Fascinating.

@iAmKudaMaynard @hbanhire @petchaps Absolutely do. Did I engage you? No. You piled in insulting me unprovoked & keep repeating it while calling me "mukoma." You said I was lying that you sought help from me. I proved that I wasn't. "Baby submissions" (sic) was your own term.

@iAmKudaMaynard - do you want me to jog your memory then? Saying mukoma mukoma privately while looking for help & publicly you deny this while launching gratuitous attacks to massage your ego! This is not my style, but you forced me since you were pretending to forget it happened!

So I have a question for everyone from Zimbabwe who follows me on this timeline. How many of you have actually sat down with your family and discussed Constitutional Amendment No. 3, and what it means for you and your family members? Have you talked about how it will affect you, whether positively or negatively, financially, politically, and in practical terms, not just now but next year, two years from now, four years from now, and even 10 years from now? How many of you have had that conversation, whether on the phone, in family WhatsApp groups, or in person? If you have done so, RETWEET. If you have not, do not retweet. I only want RETWEETS from those who have genuinely taken the time to engage their families on what Constitutional Amendment No. 3 means, not just in theory, but in real terms, including its financial, political, and long-term impact on your lives. Do not cheat. If you have not done it, do not retweet.

I have often wondered why Marxist thought never really appealed to me, even when it was all the rage growing up in post independence Zim. Keynes was certainly more seductive, not only because of the force of his ideas but because of the brilliance of his style, dress and quotable quotes. Yet it was only when I encountered Mises, Hayek and Schumpeter that I found a framework that seemed to fit human instinct, limitations and the untidy way societies actually prosper. They were less interested in flattering man and more interested in describing him as he is. Irrational. It is a pity that one is far more likely to know Keynes than Schumpeter.
