Woke up this morning....I came out to tidy the compound to get myself ready for breaking my morning kolanut... Someone knocked on the gate....I opened and it was this widow and her son that lives beside my house...They came in with this plantain...I told her to sit down let me call my mother, because I taught she came to sell plantain to my mother...She said no that she's not looking for my mother that she came to look for me...I said me kwa? Hope all is well...we all sat down...she collected the plantain from her son and presented it to me and said she's using the plantain to thank me for giving our neighborhood free water...most especially when transformer blew that took two months to fix i still buy fuel to power generator and pump water for everyone to fetch free without paying a dime...She said should have brought money to support the buying of fuel but she doesn't have enough....I almost shed tears this morning because I never expected this...Among all the people that comes daily to fetch free water, it was only this widow that came to show appreciation most especially when our neighborhood transformer blew..that period was hell... No water anywhere, but I do all my possible best to always switch on generator to pump water and they all fetch....Story cut short....I told her I'm okay that she should go with the plantain that I have enough to eat...my mother came out and said no you don't reject people's gifts especially from widows like this...take the plantain...I took the plantain and thank her again....they left... I never knew people like this woman still exist.... I'm overwhelmed. I have pen down her name among people i will be gifting food stuffs this coming Christmas...for this her single act I must show her massive love.
