Amateur (impatient) birder based in Thailand. Nature walks & birding keep me sane and lead me to places I'd never think to vacation.

By the time I grab my camera, the birds are gone. Or, when I see new birds, I get so excited that my heart pounds, my hands shake, and I screw up the photos in the process 😂. #thishappensalot #amateurbirder #birding

A Golden Bush-Robin briefly visited Chiang Mai Province in February. Of all places, this rare non-breeding migrant chose Thailand's second-highest summit as its winter pit stop. I hiked 7 km (4.3 mi) round-trip to see it, and it was worth every step 😌😅🥰. 📍Doi Pha Hom Pok NP

The Greater Roadrunner was one of my target birds for the trip. A big thank you to a park volunteer who suggested checking the campground. Following that tip, I was delighted to find a pair of these iconic birds. 📍Falcon State Park, Texas, USA (January 2026). #texasbirding

@alisonblair30 @ChirpySunbird When my mom was in grad school she had an egg incubator for her research. One of her friends was researching road runners and had an abandoned egg so they kept it in the incubator and the bird hatched and would apparently run up and down the halls of the zoology building 😊

Common Pauraques at Estero Llano Grande SP, Texas, USA (Jan 2026). A target bird on the guided walk, and we found three! They are masters of camouflage. I doubt I would have spotted them on my own. Found from southern Texas through much of Central and South America. #texasbirds

The Pyrrhuloxia is often called the "desert cardinal" for its crest and stout bill. Males stand out with bright red on the face, crest, breast, and tail, contrasting with their soft gray plumage. 📍Falcon State Park, Texas, USA (January 2026). #birdphotography #texasbirding

@Photos2Print Thank you. The park has bird blinds and feeders that attract a lot of birds.
