Citibank update on copper price: We revise our 3-month copper price target to $10k/t (from $8,500/t, ex-US). We previously called for price resilience around ~$9,400/t for the remainder of 1Q’25, but now think copper can climb to $10k/t in March amid temporarily stronger US copper import demand and broader concentrate and scrap supply constraints. We think ex-US physical market tightening is likely to persist through May/June, temporarily offsetting price headwinds from broader US tariff announcements until late-Q2’25.
