The Red Sox have privately echoed that no assurances have been given that Chad Tracy or the interim coaches will maintain their positions through the season. I just want the Red Sox to be semi-functional again. I mean… Chaim Bloom undoubtedly had his own flaws with execution. His signings seemed pressured. His first assignment as Red Sox CBO was to trade away Mookie Betts. But Chaim Bloom did not have to trade Rafael Devers because he avoided having difficult conversations or straight up lied until there was a crisis. Chaim Bloom didn’t have to fire his manager and entire coaching staff, didn’t communicate like a robot with employees and players, and didn’t let HUMAN tensions linger for 2+ years. Bloom managed to rebuild a farm system, while also fulfilling dual mandate from John Henry and crew… “Make it look like we’re trying to win, while we shed payroll and let superstars walk.” At least Chaim Bloom worked to manage relationships with players and personnel. I bet you Alex Cora and Rafael Devers would attest to that. Plenty of prospects and players have done so. Chaim Bloom’s Cardinals are in the first official year of their rebuild, shed tons of salary, already have the #2 farm system in MLB (thanks to Bloom’s involvement with the organization prior to this last offseason, as well as trades he made in his first as PBO). Chaim Bloom’s “torn down” Cardinals are 17-13. Craig Breslow’s “rebuilt” Red Sox are 12-19. Craig Breslow has proven to be VERY poor when it comes to most of the responsibilities his position entails… AND by almost all accounts, Breslow is disliked by most people he interacts with (players, coaches, other executives). I feel as though that is quite problematic. But hey, I suppose we’ve got 130 more 2026 Red Sox games to watch. Maybe Breslow will “get his guys the support they need,” as he said in an interview before firing his entire coaching staff!!

This is a bit more than a “mistake,” Chris. 💁🏻‍♀️ A mistake is a one night stand or a brief fling. A SIX YEAR long affair is very willful & deliberate long term cheating & lying. 🤨 And when you present yourself as something quite different, it does feel like a betrayal to many fans that Vrabel is actual none of those this.

Kyle Harrison, Hunter Dobbins, Cooper Criswell, and David Sandlin all dealt in the offseason. Crawford and Sandoval being effectively useless each after missing all of 2025 has been damaging.

With Jake Bennett heading to the MLB rotation, it's kind of amazing how quickly the Red Sox starting pitching depth has been drained. Crochet, Gray, Oviedo, Uberstine, Sandoval, Crawford all down. Jack Anderson or Eduardo Rivera probably the next guys up. You really can never have enough pitching.

I have no sympathy for Craig Breslow wanting to change the coaching staff and then doubling down by giving all these guys new deals. If you felt that strongly about it, you draw the line in the sand. If Cora wasn't willing to bend then, you do what you have to do. Keep in mind, Breslow wanted to give Cora 5 years in 2024, not 3.
