@aravind @DalrympleWill Because to our west there were entire abrahamic religions taking shape . Indian influence was still embraced by persians and Arabs to a certain extent

@DalrympleWill I still wonder why India didn't influence its west as much in religion and culture. Yes, surely, we had India influencing via spices, mathematics, sciences, textiles, etc but I'm wondering what made east of India more susceptible to Indian religion and culture?

@HaryanviBhrata Even if that happens. We'll get something in return for it, something bigger. I trust the people in charge. But we're not giving in that easily that's for sure.

India’s Blind Spot: Treating Iran as a Distant Country Can Indians stop referring to Iran as part of the “Middle East”? The label obscures a basic geographic fact: Iran is India’s neighbor. Its southern coast lies directly across the Arabian Sea from India’s western shore. The distance from Kandla Port in Gujarat to Chabahar is just 550 nautical miles; from Mumbai it is 786. For centuries, this maritime corridor sustained vibrant trade between the two civilizations, binding them together across the sea. Iran still matters for India when viewed in a longer strategic frame. It is the nearest major source of oil and LNG for India’s energy-hungry economy. Geopolitically, Iran also sits at the crossroads of regions vital to India’s interests — Afghanistan, Central Asia and even Pakistan. Calling Iran “Middle Eastern” is not just sloppy geography; it encourages Indians to think of a close neighbor as someone else’s problem.

@Priyang87 India is relatively doing alright if we consider structural constraints it operates within - limited landmass and larger demographics which are fairly diverse, political system which are inefficient by design, surrounded by not so friendly countries in most directions and so on.

Bro, we all support you, and speak highly of you and Sarvam now, but refrain from making claims that don't stand technical scrutiny. Sarvam is no DeepSeek. There has been no new foundational algorithmic breakthrough, no training on fully indigenous chips, and no step-change in the economics of frontier-scale training. DeepSeek’s low-cost result came from concrete (new) technical advances, novel model architecture choices, deep bare-metal optimization of their hardware stack, and access to massive, diverse global data at scale. Let's not confuse running a smaller regional cluster with executing a global paradigm shift. We wish you the best. #Sarvam #DeepSeek #AI

@TheNavroopSingh It's their choice to follow such a path. You should question what steps India is taking to ensure it remains at the table and don't end up in the menu again
