It is with regret that we inform you of the recent passing of Calgary Police Service Dog Paco, who passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. Paco joined the Calgary Police Service after arriving from the Netherlands & became the first Dutch shepherd to serve with the CPS Canine Unit. Throughout his 3 years of service, he demonstrated exceptional drive, intelligence & courage while serving the citizens of Calgary. After retiring, Paco enjoyed life at home with his handler & her family, where he was loved not as a working dog but as a cherished companion. 💕 Paco will be deeply missed by his family & by the entire CPS community. 👮‍♀️
