Wear makeup and people say you’re fake, must be ugly without it, or “you look better natural.” Show natural features and suddenly you’re “masculine,” “ugly” or “designed badly.” When people say they want “naturally beautiful” female characters, they usually still mean designed, symmetrical, flattering, youthful and camera-ready. That is not “natural.” That is idealized beauty with the labor made invisible.

That’s not “protecting minorities.” That’s the majority trying to colonize a tiny minority. Japan has every right to protect its own people and culture first. If Muslims want to live under Islamic rules, they already have dozens of countries where they can do that. They don’t need to come to Japan and turn it into another one.
