Una cosa que siempre le criticaré a Korra es el como trata el bending, paso de ser una doctrina en la que tenías que estudiar y entrenar a, simplemente, es mi herencia genética.

In contrast Bolin runs toward a lava flow, SHUTS HIS EYES, stops it, pushes it back, cools it down, and says the equivalent of “well that just happened.” No training, nothing. He didn’t even know he could do it, and he does it perfectly, with his eyes shut.

Tagah is strong but they had very little battle IQ against someone they're fighting for the first time, with abilities and techniques they had never seen, who turned on them spontaneously. Literally just like what Combustion man did.

Enough time has passed, I can finally say it.
This Avatar movie was sub par, a low 6/10, we were just eating nostalgia, the entirety of team Avatar was heavily nerfed, Toph and Zuko in particular, there is no world where one Airbender beats the entirety of team Avatar.

In the past, the portals were opened.

I think Avatar is unique since it was a show that hit right before all culture everywhere collapsed. So the first run was lightning in a bottle, and then we’ve had nothing but garbage since then. Like it’s genuinely impressive no one’s been able to make a mediocre follow up.

We dont expect him to win but perhaps turn the tides of battle so atleast a few airbenders or himself can live to fight another day. Not disappear for 100 years.

@Creggory @StellarFella27 @KingPumza But the issue, he had not yet connected with his past lives. He wouldn’t be able to use Roku or Kyoshi or anyone’s wisdom because he wasn’t ready. He only first used the Avatar State to freeze himself, not fight an army of orders to kill soldiers.

@Creggory @calebsmxlti Never said he was average I just said he didn’t have talent like Toph’s seismic sense or Katara’s subconscious connection to water healing, and had no specialized training like Katara with bloodbending and Zuko with lightning redirection. Bolin is from Republic city where they have accepted sub bending as apart of the culture. We have seen him training for metal bending meaning he is not sitting and waiting to be handed a special bending. He is always training.

@Creggory @calebsmxlti All Bolin learned was better basics of earthbending, that would just make him a better earthbender, not specialization in lavabending. We’ve seen in other bending techniques that you need either talent or training in that sect of bending, Bolin had neither.

Toph failed multiple times at metalbending before she actually succeeded at making a dent. Bolin's ass just raised his hand and stopped the lava with no effort or difficulty like child's play. They are not the same.

Healing FUNCTIONS passively, which is why an unconscious Katara could heal herself in the Avatar film despite being knocked out. All other bending forms(e.g lava bending), need conscious control. As for blood bending, Hama trained Katara in the day to reach that level of ability.

Given that Toph did not make any musings about needing to adjust her principles from rock to sand bending, it is clear that all earth benders can do this with time

Like how fire benders who are able to separate positive and negative energy can lightning bend, an energy manipulation the other bending styles don't have. Earth bending is about being immovable like rock.
