@incolnlay @Ilikeracing3 Using that same logic it would be fair to ask if Speith would have a better short game if he played with the same clubs as Bryson
English

@Ilikeracing3 @CrummoNj That’s what I’m wondering. My hypothesis is that he’d be better with normal clubs, especially wedges & short irons that seem to plague him, but I have no personal stake or care if I’m right or not. Just curious
English

Let me sum up the responses, because they’re super interesting.
In order of most common to least common response:
1. “That’s not even a hot take because everyone thinks this”
2. “There’s a chance he could improve with traditional clubs, but nobody knows”
3. “He’s a major champion with his current setup. Why would he change anything?”
4. “He’s a tinkerer, you don’t think he’s tried this already?”
5. “He doesn’t need to prove anything to you, idiot”
Lincoln Slagel@incolnlay
Here’s a Dechambau hot take: I’m convinced Bryson would be a better player with properly fit, traditional style clubs. I want proof. I want a YouTube video where he gets fit at the Titleist Performance Center, then plays an honest 18 with 2 balls - one with his current clubs, one with his custom fit traditional clubs, to prove that he “needs” these odd clubs, and that they’re actually better. Bring the launch monitor for each shot and explain the numbers. If he needs these clubs and they’re actually better, it should be a simple video.

@baxter40_22 JT is hitting and is still among the best behind the plate. What's so bad with his contract? Not that many good catchers out there.
English

@JonnyRoot_ Is this a stroke penalty due to club making contact with the sand again?
English

@JonnyRoot_ Not a good look for any pro, or for that matter any golfer, but don't see it as being hypocritical. Garcia was damaging the golf course, Homa wasn't.

The Wave while losing is just as bad as the Duran entrance while tied/losing #Phillies

@5ClubsGolf @Garywilliams1Up @chantel_mccabe I can only hope that I never get to the point where that is how I feel about golf. If I do I will need to find a different obsession. That is how one should feel about going for a stroll on the beach not about playing the greatest game ever invented.
English

.@chantel_mccabe shares an important perspective on how golf culture is evolving — especially for women.
For many, the game is no longer about handicap, scorecards, or competition. It’s about enjoying time outdoors, stepping away for a few hours, and treating golf as a hobby.
And that shift? It’s a big reason why the women’s game continues to grow.

@dkwintersgolf @35x70GolfCo What's the point of wearing a hoodie for golf when no one ever uses the hood. Why not just make a 1/4 zip or crew neck with the same material.
English

I had never worn a golf hoodie till we started testing the Prairie Hoodie. I didn’t understand why anyone would wear a hoodie while playing golf, just seemed unnecessary.
Now, I hardly wear anything else. Hoodies almost everyday.
The Prairie Hoodie is so dang comfortable and versatile, but it doesn’t fold or sit so well on a hanger so it doesn’t look great in Golf Shops. It pairs really well under a vest for those cool spring and fall golf days. Also a relaxing piece or good for a day fishing.
Last fall we added another hoodie to the lineup. The Roundhouse Hoodie. Slightly heavier fabric and so soft.
This hoodie has been a game changer. Doesn’t need to be a layering piece, just stands out on its own.
A subtle wheat for the brand on the left cuff just adds some class to the hoodie.
I’ve turned into a big fan of the golf hoodie, especially the Roundhouse Hoodie.

@Georgeadelphia You do realize that demand dictates prices in the resale marketplace.
English

Baseball tickets should never be more than 50 bucks if they come with no other benefits. 81 games/year in a 46,000+ seat stadium is more than enough supply. If they get better again, there’s zero reason for them to be above this pricepoint
tricia.@trishadelphia
i havent see phillies tickets this cheap since the dark ages
English

@drakesmith__ That's a you problem! Put the phone in the bag and leave it there. If you can't do that most days then stay off of the golf course.
English

@Boothy105 @TMacPhils I wouldn't do it but why care if someone else does?
English

@TMacPhils Grown men should not be bringing a glove to the game!
English

@VikingRobVWO What is wrong with you? Absolutely no reason to be on high alert about anything.
English

Even @stephenasmith is agreeing with me that Rory McIlroy got an unfair advantage being allowed to play unlimited times in the 3 weeks leading up to The Masters.
English

@PGATOUR @RBC_Heritage Seems like he may have an unfair advantage this week.
English

After failing to qualify for The Masters, Rickie Fowler spent some time on the range Monday of this week's @RBC_Heritage.
He hit 211 golf balls.

@AugustaGolfGirl Rory's unfair advantage is that he is better than everyone else except Scotty.
English

@andrewjcarr29 @JonnyRoot_ And we must regulate range time. It clearly is an unfair advantage that some golfers have the opportunity to spend more time practicing than do others.
English

@JonnyRoot_ Let's propose limited protein intake and number workouts between tournament rounds.
Absolute 🤡🤡🤡
English

A lot of the conversation around Rory McIlroy's "unfair advantage", especially from golf media, is completely missing the point...
There's no reason there shouldn't be a cap on the amount of times golfers can play Augusta the month prior to The Masters, whether they're past champs or not.
This ensures there isn't a blatant competitive disparity.
Yes, golfers that qualify for the tournament can access the course the month prior, but everyone can't skip three straight tournaments* & fly private whenever they want to Augusta.
*Again, this encourages top golfers to skip tournaments, devaluing those tournaments for broadcast partners, patrons, & sponsors.
For example, if the cap is 3-4 practice rounds at Augusta the month prior to the tournament, consider them like timeouts. Use them or lose them.
Problem solved. Debate over.
Past champions still get their well-deserved perks, but they don't get a blatant unfair advantage.
