@drakesmith__ That's a you problem! Put the phone in the bag and leave it there. If you can't do that most days then stay off of the golf course.

Simulator golf is cool, might be fun, but to me it is like Duck Hunt. Nothing like the real thing. Do you agree?

Masters was great. Couple ideas for how it could be improved. 1. Shotgun start instead of tee times. 2. Team competition. 1 green jacket is cool, so 4 would be even cooler! Maybe with champagne spraying! SO EXCITING

Even @stephenasmith is agreeing with me that Rory McIlroy got an unfair advantage being allowed to play unlimited times in the 3 weeks leading up to The Masters.

After failing to qualify for The Masters, Rickie Fowler spent some time on the range Monday of this week's @RBC_Heritage. He hit 211 golf balls. For more on all players' range sessions throughout the week, check out our new TOURCAST Range feature: range.pgatour.com/R2026012?pId=3…

@andrewjcarr29 @JonnyRoot_ And we must regulate range time. It clearly is an unfair advantage that some golfers have the opportunity to spend more time practicing than do others.

A lot of the conversation around Rory McIlroy's "unfair advantage", especially from golf media, is completely missing the point... There's no reason there shouldn't be a cap on the amount of times golfers can play Augusta the month prior to The Masters, whether they're past champs or not. This ensures there isn't a blatant competitive disparity. Yes, golfers that qualify for the tournament can access the course the month prior, but everyone can't skip three straight tournaments* & fly private whenever they want to Augusta. *Again, this encourages top golfers to skip tournaments, devaluing those tournaments for broadcast partners, patrons, & sponsors. For example, if the cap is 3-4 practice rounds at Augusta the month prior to the tournament, consider them like timeouts. Use them or lose them. Problem solved. Debate over. Past champions still get their well-deserved perks, but they don't get a blatant unfair advantage.

The 26 year old without kids he’s competing with can pick up his life and move to Augusta for a month.
Dylan Ausherman@DylanAusherman

@AndyTFE Yea most of the field can afford to drop their child off at school in FL, charter a PJ to Augusta, and make it home for family dinner. World class take here Andy.

@KVanValkenburg @chambleebrandel Idk why for pro golfers it’s kind of looked down upon having lots of coaches. A QB has HC, OC, QB coach, personal QB coach, trainer, physio, mental coach and more. Same for NBA. Yet golfers have more than one coach and it’s not as pure(?) or whatever it might be.

.@chambleebrandel made this point on Saturday night, and I want to re-emphasize it after the fact. It was cool to see Rory fix his swing by himself on the range after a bad day. No coach, no Trackman, no training aids. Just the confidence that he knew his swing.

@LenHochberg Did every Masters golfer have the same opportunity to prep at ANGC as Nicklaus or Palmer? Same statement could be made for every Major. It has always been that way.

Does every Masters golfer really have exactly the same opportunity to prep at Augusta National as Rory McIlroy? Even the ones who don't get in the field until 10 days before the tournament starts?

Sorry but this is one of the most undeserved Masters wins in history… Rory literally played Augusta every day for a month straight before the tournament. How is this allowed by the USGA?

Minority opinion I realize, but the tracer has added zero to my personal enjoyment of televised golf in the years since it has been instituted. I miss the brief suspense as well as the skill of describing where a ball is headed while in the air.
Josh Carpenter@JoshACarpenter

Appeared to be a major tracer misfire on 13 for Rose's approach. Looked to be heading right of the tributary but ended up right at the flag. Fooled Catalon too: "Uh oh, headed right .... right at it!"

Can we get rid of these archaic scorecard rules? It’s literally 2026. They can track the ball’s path and spin rate yet this dude has to fill out paperwork every hole. What are we doing.

For all the complaints about The Masters this week, they seem to have got the most important thing right - the course! It’s firm and fast and will only get more so. This is great! Can only hope we end up with a Duel in the Sun like finish.
