FYI — we’re heading to Harrisburg this Saturday to talk to Pennsylvania residents about H.R. 5525 and whether DC traffic laws are a top priority for Rep. Perry’s constituents. Stay tuned. 👀 🎥: @nbcwashington @AdamTuss

DC Vote is always focused on full enfranchisement of the 700,000 residents of the District. This week, we’re also following the SAVE Act. Some of the orgs we’re following alongside: @BrennanCenter, @amprog , @splcenter, and @DFADCoalition.

ICYMI: H.R. 5525 passed markup 21-19 on party lines today. No other city in America has to fight Congress over its own local laws. Hear from our Executive Director Amy Vruno on what this means for DC. #DCStatehood #LetDCVote

As Congress continues to interfere in DC's local governance, we're building the power to secure full representation. Amy's commitment to democracy, equity, and effective governance makes her the right leader at this critical moment. We're excited for what's ahead.

On this day in 1801, DC residents were stripped of their right to vote in federal elections. 225 years later, we still don't have voting representation in Congress. On America's 250th birthday year, it's time to finish the work.

DC's Attorney General has made clear that Congress missed its deadline to overturn DC's local tax law. 700,000 residents deserve the right to govern themselves. Statehood is the only permanent solution. #DCStatehood

Trump signed H.J. Res. 142, attempting to overturn DC’s tax law. DC Council Chairman Mendelson says Congress missed its statutory deadline. DC Vote stands with the Council. This trampling on our rights is only possible because DC lacks statehood. #LetDCVote

Thank you to every House and Senate Democrat who stood with DC this February. On Feb. 4, House Democrats voted against the disapproval resolution and on Feb. 12, Senate Democrats did the same. DC residents deserve to govern themselves. #LetDCVote #DCStatehood

We mourn the passing of civil rights legend Rev. Jesse Jackson (1941-2026). 🕊️ Beyond his monumental work for global equality, he was a fierce champion for Washington, D.C. As D.C.’s very first Shadow Senator (1991-1997), he relentlessly fought for the enfranchisement of its residents and was an unwavering advocate for #DCStatehood. He spent his life tearing down walls so others could walk through. May we honor his legacy and continue the work. Keep Hope Alive. #JesseJackson #CivilRights #51stState #WashingtonDC #RestInPower

Today we mourn the loss of Rev. Jesse Jackson, a civil rights icon who served as DC's shadow senator from 1991 to 1997. He recognized statehood as a fundamental civil rights issue and brought national legitimacy to the fight for DC representation. His legacy will endure.

While Republicans are refusing to lift a finger to help families across the country make ends meet, they've decided to micromanage the DC tax code & raise taxes on thousands of families in DC. What an embarrassment. I'm on the floor now, calling this out: twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…

Every right we have exists because people refused to stay quiet. This week, the Senate decides whether D.C. gets respect, or more interference. 📞 Call your Senators 202-224-3121. Tell them to reject the disapproval resolution. Democracy grows when we fight for it. #LetDCVote

🎥 WATCH: Rep. Maxwell Frost calls out H.J.Res. 142. Republicans are attempting to overturn a unanimous DC law to help working families while DC has no vote in Congress. If they cared about taxpayers, they’d back DC representation. #LetDCVote #TaxationWithoutRepresentation
