@sentdefender Ah, Zelensky brings his begging bowl to the Headchopper in Chief of Syria. Never mind his Al Qaeda/Al Nusra/ISIS roots. Just a name change and a Western style suit and he’s magically transformed into a “democratic leader”!

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived this morning in the Syrian capital of Damascus, meeting with President Ahmed al-Sharaa and other senior officials to discuss energy, security, and other development opportunities between the two counties, as well as Syria’s support for Ukraine during the ongoing invasion by Russia.

Photos show the charred remains of 2 U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules at the site of a temporary forward operations base in Southern Iran that was utilized during last night’s operation by U.S. Special Forces, with the aircraft being destroyed to prevent their falling into enemy hands, following the extraction of U.S. Forces.

@ShyTurista @sentdefender Because they did not hit it the first time. This is a shoot down crash site. Why need 2 C130s just to rescue 1 person? Why not just send helicopters. Truth is the first rescue teams were shot down and needed to be rescued themselves. US as always will hide their fatalities.

Two things can be true at once: a) this victory is pure PR with heavy strategic cost; b) Iran lost the opportunity to make it much much worse; What I'm more worried about is that this can give the Americans false confidence regarding boots on the ground.
Patarames@Pataramesh

Massive material costs inflicted: - Two MC-130 - At least one MH-6 ➡️ So that's why Trump posted his "Win", flawless victory, so hastily... Operation Eagle Claw 2.0 (but with a humanitarian happy-end) It's may be a win, but a pyrrhic one...

@Alex_3204 That doesn't surorise me much, Iran won't waste SAM for useless, unhabited territory, and shooting down a low flying C130 is more difficult than shooting down a F35 at altitude. Unless they had people in the region armed with MANPADS.

What Search and Rescue Operations Over Iran Reveal In the last few hours, at least one A-10, two helicopters, one C-130, and one RQ-9 drone were spotted flying with relative freedom over an Iranian province. These are five much easier targets to shoot down than an F-15. Yet none of them were engaged. And that wasn’t by accident, it was a deliberate choice by Iran, which apparently has no intention of escalating the anti-air war against this type of target in corridors leading into the country’s interior. This reminds me of a famous phrase from the Iran-Iraq War: “Iran lets them in.” Iran truly seems to be inviting a ground operation on its territory, and it appears very confident about it. Another important point is the footage of armed members of Iranian tribes firing rifles at long range toward American helicopters. They posed no real threat, but the scenes clearly show a strong sense of unity and fighting spirit even in the most remote regions. That is an extremely significant factor when assessing the real dangers of a ground invasion.

@hasanthehun Ukraine deserved their invasion and has no 'right' defend itself though, according to you. America bad, Russia doesn't like America, therefore Russia = good. Nice logic. Moron.

Iranian media has posted what appears to be debris from a USAF F-15E Strike Eagle, reportedly downed earlier today. Seen here, the remains of a vertical stabilizer.

@FinnishRenegade @Osinttechnical Knew that was coming right on queue and already posted a response before this was even posted. Too easy. Cosplaying as a Finnish or just a usual tankie who thinks being anything not american in the world is 'edgy and cool'?

@Osinttechnical That's like the 5th or the 6th F-15E shot down within a month while flying against an "utterly inferior" country. Not going well, is it?

And this is at home and overseas. You can't protect everything, not even close, but you can protect a portion of your fleet and plan around that capacity.

Hopefully there will FINALLY be a real wake up call here on hardened infrastructure for air bases. They (DoW leadership) have and are living in a fantasy land with this. It's maddening. It's easier to kill your most potent combat aircraft on the ground, where they sped the vast majority of their lives, often broken, than in the air. Overwhelming air defenses is just a math/procurement/tactical equation. This is Iran. China will be a bloodbath. The entire thing is bonkers. How many years have we been beating this drum?
