@Alex_3204 @Infogather97 @GenghisMFKhan Nope dudes supposedly out and injured. No name no nothing. They had to burn their own planes and helicopters which clearly have bulletholes through them. Sorry buddy. This was a failed ground invasion. Trump lies like he breathes.

@SeekinAdl @Infogather97 @GenghisMFKhan The war is still ongoing, it’s fairly possible that publishing something could compromise some tactics, maybe after the war. I don’t think the US even published footage of the helicopters inside Venezuela after it was over.

@Alex_3204 @Infogather97 @GenghisMFKhan The pilot was injured. Are you telling me he parachuted 150 miles or even 125 miles away from his plane.cmon the whole story sounds fishy. And where are the pics. When they caught Maduro pics everywhere. Now no pics. No pilot names. Blew up own aircraft. Suuure

@DavidB51270 @T_90_M_2024 If you think a old C-130H is the same as a state of the art HC or MC-130 that is actively partaking in operations, I don’t think it’s worth continuing this argument.

@Alex_3204 @T_90_M_2024 More fantasies, America left Hercules and Black Hawks in the Afghanistan pullout, which they had time to organize, but then in a tight military operation blowing up a Hercules was super important? Americans only know of war from Hollywood.

Two things can be true at once: a) this victory is pure PR with heavy strategic cost; b) Iran lost the opportunity to make it much much worse; What I'm more worried about is that this can give the Americans false confidence regarding boots on the ground.
Patarames@Pataramesh

Massive material costs inflicted: - Two MC-130 - At least one MH-6 ➡️ So that's why Trump posted his "Win", flawless victory, so hastily... Operation Eagle Claw 2.0 (but with a humanitarian happy-end) It's may be a win, but a pyrrhic one...

@DavidB51270 @T_90_M_2024 An highly specialised HC or MC-130 that was actively participating in a high profile special operation? Yes…

@Alex_3204 @T_90_M_2024 You're inventing fantasies in your head. America leaves behind military equipment all the time, these stories of them intentionally blowing it up is just cover for the enemy successfully doing so.

@DavidB51270 @T_90_M_2024 Not necessarily, or they don’t get shot down and have to remain there for another reason.

@Alex_3204 @T_90_M_2024 They were flying in formation, and how would you tell distances from those pictures? You think they were flying with backup tnt to blow them up like that if they were downed?

@DavidB51270 @T_90_M_2024 So you think the 2 aircraft crashed right next to each other, in the exact same position as they got photographed when they were still intact?

@Alex_3204 @T_90_M_2024 Do these above images look like they were scuttled? Iran is reporting 5 KIA, and given that America lies infinitely more (e.g. Iran not having any AA) Iran is far more credible.

@Alex_3204 @T_90_M_2024 Except America can't? Two C-130s and multiple helicopters were downed, 5 guys were killed. Is America trying to saturated Iranian AA with their aircraft lol?

@SeekinAdl @Infogather97 @GenghisMFKhan Depending on the location within the province given in the article the distance could’ve been more around 150 km, which is well within the range of the AH/MH-6s which took part in the operation.

@Tr0nSwans0n @squatsons Off field landings, yeah. However that doesn’t mean it can’t get stuck in unfavourable soil conditions.

Ok now four Mh-6 little bird helicopters were reportedly lost in this “rescue operation.” I have a feeling 2 HC-130s and at least 4 helicopters are overkill. Who wants to bet that they were setting up a play for uranium?
ayden@squatsons

Just a thought but is there a chance that with the large number of assets that were brought in and the use of that abandoned airfield were for reasons other than a pilot rescue? I know these operations are intensive and require contingencies but it feels a little off to me.

@OnDisasters It was 100~150km from the Kuwaiti border at most. Hardly deep enemy territory.

Air Safety #OTD by Francisco Cunha
3 notes 1) Rescue was a success. Aircrafts are replaceable: its a war and losses are expected. Pilots are not so replaceable, to put it mildly; 2) For US Forces to be able to rescue that soldier for what is, surely the most hostile foe they faced in some time, in deep enemy territory, is a feat in itself, regardless of material losses; 3) I am utterly appalled by how many Europeans have sided with the baddies on this one. Then digging deep at their profiles, they´re connected to some left turd political party: so you have non-religious communism siding with mullah crazy religious dictatorships. You can´t make this up.

Imagine if European shitlibs ever get into another serious war. "I'm stuck behind enemy lines, please help!" "No, what if our plane gets damaged"

@zoka8000 @squatsons It makes total sense. Why else will you need to land two C-130 to airlift one pilot especially when you have helicopters?Think.

@Tr0nSwans0n @squatsons Old agricultural strips aren’t built to support C-130 stuffed to the brim with helicopters and fuel, do you know how the soil conditions next to the runway are?

@squatsons Having a little background in aviation, I still don't see how not one, but two C-130s get "stuck" in dry hard packed soil at an established runway. I've been on plenty of crop duster strips in farm country
