@SunilAminMD @DouglasAdlerMD Congratulations on this! I have performed both approaches, single/double myotomy. My data says all work the same. However, I stick to lesser curve now, it’s quick and closure is much easier. We just don’t know the right patients even after 10 yrs !

I am very excited to share our Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) from PGIMER, Chandigarh 🇮🇳 in the prestigious "Annals of Internal Medicine" @AnnalsofIM 😍🥰🙏 "Endoscopic Ultrasound-Guided Rendezvous Technique Versus Precut Sphincterotomy as Salvage Technique in Patients With Benign Biliary Disease and Difficult Biliary Cannulation: A Randomized Controlled Trial" Firstly, a big congratulations to Dr. Jayanta Samanta @Samanta_JayPGI, who is the "hand" and "mind" behind this project !!! 🔥 And to @drarupc for his fantastic dissertation during DM residency ! 🤝👍🙏 to all our co-authors: @Dr_AntrikshKr @alerepici and lastly, @AntonioFaccior6 sir !!! and others not on X ! ✅ This is the FIRST RCT on the topic of EUS-guided rendezvous, on an important topic of difficult bile duct cannulation . ✅ Follows @ESGE_news definition for DBC for only benign biliary diseases. ▶️ 100 cases randomised ✅ primary outcome: technical success (TS) Results: ☑️ TS: 92% vs. 90%; P = 1.00; RR: 1.02 [95% CI, 0.90 to 1.16]) ✅similar: median procedure time (10.1 vs. 9.75); overall complication rate (12% vs. 10%) ✔️🎯EUS-RV and PcP have similar success rates as salvage techniques in the technically challenging cohort of DBC for benign biliary disease, with acceptable complications rates. Have a great read !!! ☕️🔗👇 acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M2…
