Trump threw his weight behind repealing the sanctions. They were lifted. The contracts are moving, the Trump family’s deals are expanding, and not a single Washington Republican is willing to say a word about any of it. This is a travesty. More than 33 million children in America are growing up breathing toxic air according to the American Lung Association's 2026 State of the Air report. That’s nearly half of all kids in the U.S.  But it gets worse. 20% of these kids live in communities with air that routinely fails every single safety measure for smog and soot. As a parent and a Congressman, I find it sickening. The Trump administration promised to “Make America Healthy Again,” yet they’re pushing environmental rollbacks that are systematically poisoning America’s air.  I grew up in California in the 80s. I remember what the burn of smog felt like for kids playing outside back then, and I won’t be silent while Trump lets pollution choke the next generation.
