After taking back the Governor’s mansion in last November’s off-year elections, Democrats have absolutely decapitated the Second Amendment in Virginia, and they’ve done it in just 60 days. That’s right. In two months, Democrats have passed every single thing their activist base wanted with no endless hearings, no waiting for a bigger majority, and no cowardice. They had the power, and they moved immediately to enact their entire agenda, all of which the Governor is expected to sign. Their list included nine new laws: 👉 SB-38: Additional restrictions on private gun transfers 👉 SB-749: A ban on the sale of AR-15s and similar rifles 👉 HB-110: $500 fine if anyone can see a gun in your car 👉 HB-19: New gun bans based on misdemeanor convictions 👉 HB-871: Deadly new storage laws for guns in the home 👉 HB-229: Gun ban in additional medical facilities 👉 HB-40: Felony ban on most homemade firearms 👉 SB-27: Civil liability on gun manufacturers 👉 SB-115: Gutted concealed carry reciprocity The scope of this list and what these Democrats have done is breathtaking. This is how the Left acts when they take total control of a state. Zero hesitation, zero “working with Republicans,” zero compromise, zero regard for “the Constitution,” and zero concern for the rights of law-abiding citizens. They simply steamroll opposition and move on. This isn’t just how Virginia Democrats act; they do this everywhere where they take total power. Now compare that to our situation. Almost every Republican in Congress campaigns as a defender of the Second Amendment. Yet House Republican leaders have bottled up every pro-gun bill for years. Years with no action from Republican leaders ... when it only took Virginia Democrats sixty days to crush the Second Amendment rights of 8.5 million Virginians. It’s absurd. Gun owners vote for these Republican candidates. We give them our donor dollars every two years. Some gun owners walk in parades for them. And yet, Republican leadership refuses to move pro-gun bills forward. In the meantime, we hope this quick overview of what happened to gun owners in Virginia helps light a fire in you in your state. We must demand more or all will be lost. Our country is hanging in the balance right now.
