@LateRoundQB @NerdBoiTakes @GameTapeGods Early breakout signal should still matter even at a lower level IMO. A guy dominating G6/FCS then transferring up is still showing age-adjusted production, just against lesser competition. How do you discount the level without dismissing the signal entirely?

Disagree with this — immediate production is still incredibly predictive. Ages are changing, but I think we still have the COVID impact as well. We won't get to pre-NIL levels, but I do anticipate some of this leveling out *to a degree*. But age-adjusted production is still hugely important.

Have been talking about this in the prospect guide for a while now. Metrics like Breakout Age and Dominator Rating were really important when they came out. But we also need to continue to evolve and build off of the foundation. x.com/NoFilm_Analysi…

Breakout age matters, but it genuinely might be the most overrated predictive metric used. 1st round WRs with a <19.0 breakout age since 2019 include guys like: - Xavier Worthy (18.4) - N'Keal Harry (18.7) - Corey Davis (18.7) - Rashod Bateman (18.8) - Josh Doctson (18.8) - John Ross (18.8) 1st round WRs with a >20.0 breakout age since 2019 include guys like: - Jaylen Waddle (21.6) - Brandon Aiyuk (21.5) - Marquise Brown (21.3) - Brian Thomas Jr. (20.9) - DeVonta Smith (20.8) - Jameson Williams (20.4) - Garrett Wilson (20.1) This isn't to say there isn't some correlation to breakout age and NFL success. Some of the best receivers in the NFL have great breakout ages, but a lot of them are in the 19-20 range, not sub-19.0. The point being: breakout age matters, but not nearly the amount as it's made out to be. It's a small piece of a large puzzle.

@DP_NFL 22 TDs and only 2 INTs vs the blitz, according to PFF. Can scramble out of the pocket and keep his eyes down the field. He’s gotta clean up some decision making at times, but he’s a clean prospect going to a great situation to be productive and elevate that draft stock.

As I enter my first year of putting my film driven takes/analysis on players for all to see, it’s becoming evident that my biggest pet peeve is talking about a prospect with someone who’s only watched on game on a prospect, and they use that to drive their entire analysis.

@thedevyplanet I love how Manning finished the season, but I wonder if we are beginning to over value what he did. It rose his artificial value, for sure. But I’d have a hard time passing up on Jeremiah Smith for anyone. Locked and loaded 1.01 for me.

@EmpireEliteFF Bro they don’t even watch a full game. They see none of the reps when the player isn’t involved, WR’s blocking etc. a lot of these people watch 6 minute highlight tapes and say “this guy sucks/rocks” and you won’t ever convince them otherwise. Wild times!
