It is better for Vijay to sit in Opposition and wait for a re-election than be bullied like this by VCK and Muslim League. Both these parties will get wiped out by TVK+ whenever the re-election happens.

Perplexing why #Vijay went to Lok Bhavan today to submit 116 names. He could have waited till negotiations with #VCK concluded and given the list of 118 names if vck came on board. There was no need to submit a daily progress report to the Governor.

@tirumuru_87 The problem with 116 is the other party can get it too. Vck is the kingmaker here, of course, if Vijay or the ADMK leader put their egos aside and let the other become CM, then they'll have a clear majority and won't need extra support from smaller parties, especially the Congis.

The BJP is the only party in the country with one MLA, 2.5% vote and anti incumbency even before the new government has been sworn in

So far, my understanding of the Vijay–Governor issue is: 1. TVK has 108 seats. 2. Majority needed is 118. 3. Even with Congress support, they are still short. 4. If TVK had approached only as the single largest party, Governor could’ve invited them first and asked them to prove majority later on the floor. 5. But TVK also went with a coalition support claim. 6. Once coalition numbers are claimed officially, proof of support naturally becomes important. 7. So this is not exactly the straightforward “single largest party denied chance” narrative being pushed online. Correct me if I’m wrong…
