Political and social change is not something that happens overnight and if there is a movement that shows budding support for something that was previously off the radar it would garner a lot more coverage/publicity to the point of becoming a viable option down the line

Can someone explain to me why there appears to be more vitriol directed at people who vote for a third party candidate than there is directed at people who didn't vote at all? I get that voting non-strategically is naive, but not voting at all is criminally apathetic
