This is a good example of envy-fueled slopulism. A 100% tax like this would literally raise 0 revenue, as no one would allow their wealth to reach past that threshold. Whereas a 10% tax might raise billions you could theoretically use to help people.
But it’s not actually about helping people for slopulists. It’s just about class warfare and hating the rich.

Then after election, late mail in ballots surged in and pushed through the sales tax increase
Again, voters who showed up in person and were all rejecting the tax increase. It was only late mail in ballots, that all came in overwhelming supporting Democrats that pushed through the tax

The US has 1 trillionaire and 988 billionaires. Their combined net worth is about 8.4 trillion dollars.
If we would just tax these people “fairly,” it would totally solve the $40 trillion national debt. And every other problem in society.
