The addition of the plaque a few years ago after student protest was very amusing. The same students seem to have overlooked that the John Curtin School, and the Chifley and Menzies Libraries, were named after supporters of both the British Empire and the White Australian Policy.

Get the feeling ANU is has always been a little embarrassed to own this statue of Winston Churchill, a fibreglass replica of the one in Parliament Square. Tucked away behind a screen of trees, and the caption somewhat mealy mouthed.

laughed for 15 minutes straight at this airline reviewer claiming he got stranded in singapore on his way to dubai and that there are zero flights for at least a week but then casually drops the fact that there are indeed flights, he just doesn't want to fly economy class.

In the nearly 15 years since I graduated and left my elementary school I've come to find out that they've renovated the entire school field, built a new playground, have a full solar panel roof, a separate roof top garden terrace, additional new classrooms constructed, etc!

@ianjq I think it's easy to see in hindsight now the episode was meant to be tongue in cheek. think it just came out at a weird time where cartoon review channels were like.... verrryyy humorless and all about talking about "mean spiritedness" and "bad messages"
