Schools have a list of approved people to pick up a child. He may not be on the list. Its not her fault. Shes protecting the children. Parents provide the list at registration. If he's not on the list there may be a reason for that. Shes needs to cintact the parent on the list or check if he is on the list.

@alphafox UK schools have legal safeguarding duties, incl. controlling into whose care they hand over pupils. Schools maintain a list of authorised family/guardians who can pick up at the school gate. The father should have notified the school in advance. If he’d done that: zero problem.

@ByPatForde @BryanDFischer The trash being directed at young people via social media is vicious & disgusting. The gaming industry & social media platforms’ dismissiveness of this kind of abuse is outrageous.

I hope ESPN finally gives Bob Wischusen this role. He’s deserved it for years. They’ve been passing him over and going with guys who aren’t nearly as good as he is for way too long (not counting Joe Buck who is of course outstanding).

Oh boy do we have a lot to discuss. I’ve represented about 100 people charged with DWI. 78% of those cases have been dismissed. Tiger in this video is among the least intoxicated I’ve seen on a body cam. He’s cogent and responsive. The officer administering the HGN has no idea what she’s doing. Violates every rule in the NHTSA manual. He also does not appear to be slurring his words.
Overton@overton_news

🚨 BREAKING: Martin County Sheriff’s Office just released the full bodycam footage from Tiger Woods’ latest crash. Woods failed the field sobriety test and was found with two prescription hydrocodone pills in his pocket. OFFICER: “How much have you had to drink today?” WOODS: “None.” OFFICER: “And do you take any medication?” WOODS: “Uhh...I take a few, yes.” He was arrested for driving under the influence on the spot. Woods has entered a plea of not guilty.

The amount of people expecting a camera angle showing the Artemis II spacecraft from a distant perspective is disheartening. Do they expect an additional spacecraft to be sent along with Artemis II just to photograph it along the way? 🤦‍♂️

#ArtemisII #Artemis

Everyone knows that the Space Launch System uses reflown Space Shuttle parts. But I feel people arent able to grasp just how much history goes into the rocket set to send humans around the Moon for the first time in 53 years. So heres a thread on the reused parts of Artemis II:

It got me thinking…who is this World Cup actually for? In 1994, I was able to take my family to matches here in the United States. It wasn’t a luxury decision, it was something that felt within reach, and that mattered because that’s how the game grows and that’s how memories are made. I was living in Boston working for Reebok at the time, and so we were able to go to so many games at Foxborough as well as in New York City. In full disclosure, my work also allowed me to travel to games on the West Coast, including the final. While that was not the best shop window for The Beautiful Game it was stunning to see the Rose Bowl fulled to the brim with 94,000 fans. Now fast forward to 2026. Imagine a young family here in America today. Mum, dad, two kids who love the game. They sit down and look at the cost of attending just one match…tickets, travel, maybe a night or two in a hotel…and they pause. Not because they don’t love the game enough, it’s because they simply can’t justify it. in my 45 years living here in the US and being involved in the game at so many different levels, I’ve never seen its popularity spike like it is today. Gen Z has fully embraced the game, Welcome to Wrexham has laid bare the passion and the joy it can ignite in a previously beleaguered community, and we are spoiled for the choice of just about every major game in the world brought to us by streaming channels fighting for their place in broadcasting live sports. Or think about a supporter from abroad. Someone who has followed their national team their entire life. For many, this isn’t just a trip, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. Between ticket pricing, travel costs, and uncertainty around access, that dream starts to slip out of reach. That’s the part that sits uneasily with me. The World Cup has always been more than a tournament. It’s been a gathering of people, cultures, stories. A place where the game feels like it belongs to everyone. If too many of those people are left watching from afar, we lose something that can’t be measured in revenue. It becomes a made-for-tv spectacle like the Super Bowl, and then we lose the soul of it… And once that starts to go, it’s very hard to get back.

@EDDAVI @jon_stokes There were some schools that had CNN in 1986 but it was not very many at all (the Cable in the Classroom wouldn't start until 1989). They at least *could have* watched it live on CNN.

I watched it on one of these, and lol no they did not wheel this into my 5th grade classroom expressly to show us a replay of that teacher & crew exploding. We watched it live along with a ton of other kids across the country.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.
