FACT CHECK: Claims that EPA has recently authorized the release of genetically engineered mosquitoes in the U.S. are FALSE. ✅ A previously issued Experimental Use Permit (EUP) expired in 2024. ✅ No releases are currently authorized in the US. ✅ EPA is not aware of any releases in the US following the expiration of the EUP. ✅ Any unauthorized release would violate federal law (FIFRA) and be subject to enforcement action.

Devon works with states across the southeast region to process applications for clean water and drinking water projects through the State Revolving Fund, Emerging Contaminants in Small and Disadvantaged Communities program, and the South Florida Program. She recently completed a two-year project, working with EPA colleagues and state partners to construct more expansive water systems, raising the quality of public drinking water. Devon played an integral role positioning the funding needed for this project. When not at work, you can find Devon cooking gourmet meals. EPA’s Assistant Administrator for Water knows leadership when she sees it! As Senior Response Officer for the Potomac Interceptor sewage spill, Jess Kramer credited President Trump for demanding swift and complete cleanup of the site to ensure communities were protected. Thanks to President Trump’s leadership and coordinated actions taken by EPA and other partners, the Potomac has been restored to pre-collapse conditions well in advance of upcoming #America250 festivities in our nation’s capital.

It was great joining @TMSPrestonScott to discuss my travels in Florida and refocusing EPA’s efforts on contaminated site cleanups across the country. After years of regulatory overreach and misguided priorities under the Biden Administration, the Trump EPA is getting back to its core mission of protecting human health and the environment, tackling contaminated sites head-on, and overhauling burdensome regulations to ensure reliable and affordable energy production can thrive right here in the USA. 🚨UPDATE: Mexico has completed repairs to the leak in Tijuana's Parallel Gravity Line (PGL). All pumps are back online, and flows are back to normal.   Critically, NO transboundary flows reached the U.S. thanks to proactive @EPA & @USIBWC action ensuring Mexico quickly made every necessary repair. This section of pipe will be fully upgraded and new by this July, as part of the Trump EPA’s 2025 MOU.
U.S. EPA@EPA

EPA was just notified that, to repair an unexpected leak in Tijuana’s Parallel Gravity Line, Mexico was forced to shut down pump stations along the border last night. As a result, millions of gallons of wastewater are flowing into the Tijuana River. Mexico estimates their repairs will take 24-36 hours. As of the last report we received, the recently expanded South Bay treatment plant was treating approximately 75% of this wastewater flowing today into the river. The U.S. International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) is taking proactive measures to mitigate sediment and trash flows to ensure critical infrastructure in the area isn’t damaged. The USIBWC is also in communication with Mexico about the repairs and demanding this work be instantly completed. Mexico began rehabilitating the Parallel Gravity Line last November and they expect to complete construction in July 2026 as part of the 100% solution Mexico and the United States agreed to and signed last year. The good news is that Mexico has otherwise been rapidly constructing several agreed upon Mexico side infrastructure projects that were part of recent international agreements with the United States. These projects, scheduled to be completed in 2026, 2027, and one in 2028, are imperative to permanently end this decades-long crisis.

Securing America’s grid reliability and lowering electricity prices are not mutually exclusive. In fact, both are essential to unleashing energy dominance and powering the AI revolution. EPA’s proposed action yesterday to revise effluent limitations guidelines for steam electric power plants will reduce electricity generation costs by as much as $1.1 BILLION annually, making life more affordable for American business and families. The Trump EPA continues its historic deregulatory approach as @epaleezeldin announced a proposal to delay the compliance deadlines for Biden-era emission standards for light-and medium-duty vehicles for two years until model year (MY) 2029, which were unattainable due to the Biden Administration completely miscalculating Americans’ tolerance for EVs. This massive announcement aligns with Americans’ overwhelming desire to move away from EV mandates, which will make vehicles more affordable and restore consumer choice, while keeping the effective Tier 3 emission standards in place.
