@DwarvenDM work together towards a greater goal, and if everyone is good, the banding together and intergroup roleplaying that provides never happens without split heroic ideals. I'm a sucker for a good moral quandry though, especially within a group, as long as everyone is having fun.

@DwarvenDM I play mostly Unheroics, even evil characters at times - For me it's the drama within the group that is interesting, moral and ethics clashing, as well as being the "Get shit done" mindset. I also enjoy groups of smol people, banding together in lieu of their differences to...

I love HEROIC fantasy and don't go out of my way to play dark or non-heroic characters. What is it about an "unheroic" character that appeals to you?

@HowlingSaltMine Can also lock out the game fairly decently with locks like Chains + anvil of bogardan, forcing players to lose off their current hand, while giving you time to set-up a tutor into big mana into phage, or just tutor into blood celebrant for the win

@HowlingSaltMine Blood Celebrant and Hex Parasite on turn 1 are great, and fetchable through different means, and forces a turn 1 answer from opponents. big mana for inevitability and you get immortal coil + fast mana as well.

The new EDH variant is dEDH or death EDH where you try to lose as fast as possible. - Instead of stopping wincons, you’re countering deathcons. - Spells where you pay life are top tier. - Gemstone caverns into Demonic Consultation is the best turn 1 win. What are you playing?

@roguecaliber Per player per session that sounds high, When I was DM:ing four groups of six I charged a bit, but mostly to cover food, snacks and drinks for the sessions as I ran about 4 sessions a week, and it was more like a tip jar thing (Players tipped at the end of a session.)

Edited: To Include poll Wow , so some GMs charge $35 a session? So for $140 a month you play 2-3 hours a week. People must be doing it though, I see ads everywhere. Would you ever consider charging for your gamemaster skills (online or face-to-face)

@DynamoNestico probably about 10% or so - mostly because missing out of things due to having to go to tournaments as well as always being in a precarious economic situation. Glad I don't play much anymore, and haven't spent money on mtg in the last 5 years

@CommanderReplay We used to play it with 60 card decks so much back in the days, some crazy synergy plays and very OG kitchen table vibes.

@EmTheVan @PleasantKenobi @blackmore17x Dunno about the esports aspect. Pokemon has a lot of big events every year, all streamed with interviews and the whole shebang, magic on the other hand has felt pretty lacking imho.

The funniest thing about this kind of rage bait is that it's always other card gamers trying to take shots at Magic. They really, really wish they had even an ounce of the quality and prestige that Magic carries, and it shows.
