@GleamingGarmore @MBTYuGiOh I just really like the elegance of cipher's resource system. You're never mana screwed, but going wild with colors is punished. You get extra value from flipping lands and have ways to bounce them to reset or use them on the field. Game has issues but imo resources aint one.

@OmegaShinku @McWinSauce I get what you say but then a land would never be discarded. Imagine you kept a bad 7 (for reasons). 6 lands and a spell. Opp casts this? Will you discard the spell or a land and givr them advantage. Unless you can kill them t1, you'd discard a spell

Sat down for a game of commnder. Opened my 7 card hand, 1 land. Mulligan, open another hand, 0 lands. Mulligan, next hand, 1 land. Mulligan, next hand, 1 land. Milligan, next hand, 3 lands, Finally! Have to put back 3 cards, cuz of all the mulls, draw no lands for 7 turns. I like Magic, but how can anyone say the mana system in this game is one of the best? It’s the most frustrating mana sytem to engage with because if shit doesn’t go perfectly you just get completely screwed.

Why is nobody talking about the abysmal pull rates for the silver scroll foil cards in #mtg Secrets of Strixhaven? The JP mythic Mystical Archive cards cEDH players are salivating over have a 2.3% pull rate from a collector pack - which is like 1 every 4 boxes. That's soo bad :(

@MrTeatime10 Yes. In theory it’s cracked. Its effect was insane. But summoning it requires absolutely ridiculous requirements. PLUS you had to own the others. Ideally more than 1. And Lv5 & 7 were both moderately rare. So the whole deck was just abysmal to even attempt.

Did everyone have a really high rarity card they pulled as a kid, thought was the coolest thing ever, but every bit of their soul knew it was absolute ass?

I don't think YGO is truly "more complex" than MTG, it just doesn't use space-saving text. In MTG, most effects are keyworded while YGO has very few. YGO's resource system is actions vs interactions which TCG players struggle to understand compared to a slower turn system
