This last year has been nothing but this type of messaging from Washington. It was like this before AND after attacking Iran. If Europe would have enthousiastically joined the US in bombing Teheran, they would have continued saying these things just the same.

The fact that MAGA-adjacent freaks spread doom porn about immigration-related issues in Europe 24/7, does not mean that these issues do not exist.
With only single digit percentages of muslims we have plenty of trouble as it is. We've had countless terror attacks, large and small. People have been massacred over mere cartoons, a teacher beheaded in front of his school, a priest's throat cut during a church service. And the list goes on.
As for the ongoing asylum migration influx, there are thousands upon thousands of people from safe countries like Morocco, Algeria or Bangladesh arriving at our shores. And even the Afghans started only arriving in large numbers since Merkel single handedly decided to open the EU borders for these "Syrian doctors", who are in fact mostly poorly educated young men.
And I did not even touch upon the staggering amount of non-jihadist crimes that these groups cause nor did I begin to mention demographic trends. If we downplay or ignore all of this "in defense of Europe", we only push more and more people who are rightly worried about these issues towards the MAGA-adjacent and Kremlin-aligned camp.

I’d pencil in some mild concern for around 2600 and see how things look then. Now. The refugees. Since someone asked who’s paying for all this. Let’s follow the money back a bit further. America invaded Afghanistan, spent 20 years there achieving absolutely nothing, then left in such breathtaking chaos that people were literally hanging off aircraft. It then invaded Iraq over weapons that turned out not to exist, killed somewhere between 150,000 and a million people, and converted a functioning country into a sectarian hellscape. This is before we even get to the drones over Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan. The people washing up on European shores are, in very large part, the direct human wreckage of American foreign policy. America created the disaster. Europe is housing the survivors. And America is on the internet asking why Europe keeps letting people in. Remarkable cheek, really. As for eliminating indigenous culture: the United States actually eliminated its indigenous people. Deliberately. With rifles and government paperwork. Europe took in Syrian doctors. These are not comparable situations, and pretending they are requires a truly heroic indifference to history. The culture is fine. France still has the cheese. The Louvre is still there. Bach is still there. Nothing has been eliminated except, apparently, the ability to read a percentage.

As an environmental scientist it hurts to say, but we are getting fucked in Europe because the Americans can't keep their missiles in their pants.
We should open our own gas fields and oil fields again. The investment should be entirely justifiable now, while we transition to green energy and nuclear.

@EuropeanPan @Apparatchik_1 Er zijn volgens mij grote regionale en/of klasseverschillen op dit vlak, want ik ben ook sterk onder de indruk dat er in Nederland een bepaald Frank (of Fries) en vrij type bestaat dat in Duitsland dunner gezaaid is. Dit is overigens soms of zelfs vaak iets slechts.
