Told @FoxNews that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf considered relatively moderate in the current Iranian context, but he’s not the one calling the shots. He’s not the leader himself. He may serve as a channel to Iran’s leadership, but not as the ultimate authority. If you want to speak to someone in Iran, he’s probably the point of contact.l, But he’s not deciding anything. Even if he wants to do something, he has to get approval from the IRGC and the supreme leadership. The system today is more radicalized and decentralized. It’s not one person. It’s multiple actors you need to coordinate with, which makes it much harder to negotiate. I’m not saying it’s impossible, because this is still the Middle East, but it will be very difficult to reach an agreement with them, let alone one that reflects the same demands the U.S. was making before the war. There is no way they are going to agree to that. @EfratLachter foxnews.com/world/meet-ira…

This WaPo story takes on new meaning now that we know 13 U.S. bases “uninhabitable” per NYT. Satellite imaging firms Planet and Vantor delayed imagery access about 2 weeks ago, so Iran couldn’t do BDAs to improve targeting. But it also meant U.S. public couldn’t see damage to U.S. bases, either. washingtonpost.com/national-secur…

This is yet another piece of evidence that Washington still doesn’t understand the shift Iran has gone through during the war. The regime today is more radical, less centralized, and increasingly convinced that it is winning, which means it believes it can dictate the terms of how this conflict ends. That leaves Trump with two real options: Either de facto surrender a ceasefire without a deal, or an agreement shaped around Iran’s demands or a major escalation, with severe consequences for the global system and the international economy. This is the direct result of a campaign built on flawed assumptions — especially a fundamental misreading of Iran’s resilience. Iran is not Venezuela. There is no Delcy Rodríguez waiting in Tehran. And there is no silver bullet for the Iran problem. Period.

Heard FM Aragchi’s interview w state TV. My impression is that Iran’s still keeping bridges with the U.S., Him saying “this war is not our war, nor is it America's war. It was Israel that pushed the United States into it.” Rejecting the 15 points, offering Iran’s points, means practically Iran isn’t rejecting talks, rather looking for common grounds with the U.S. . Next hours crucial.
Ali Hashem علي هاشم@Alihashem

Iran rejects the 15 points paper. A high-rank diplomatic source confirmed to AlJazeera that Tehran has received the US 15-point plan but described it as “extremely maximalist and unreasonable.” The source said that what has been portrayed in some media reports does not accurately reflect the substance of the proposal. “It is not beautiful even on paper,” the source added, calling the plan deceptive and misleading in its presentation.

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi: There are no talks with the U.S., which is sending messages through different mediators. The exchange of messages via mediators does not mean negotiation with the U.S. Top authorities are reviewing the offered proposals, but Tehran has no intention to hold talks with the U.S. Iran is not seeking a war and demands a permanent end to the conflict, and compensation for destruction. The U.S. failed in its war goals, including a quick victory and regime change. My message to the neighboring countries: distance yourselves from the U.S. We will target American interests wherever we find them, and any country that hosts them is considered a legitimate target.

Admin officials say exiled opposition figure Reza Pahlavi is not being considered as a future leader of Iran, citing concerns about his legitimacy in the country. “Now do you put in Reza Pahlavi? God, no… He grew up outside. That is the last thing you want to install there. That’ll mean chaos,” one official said. Another official confirmed Pahlavi is “not on the table.”

NEW: There has been outreach between the United States and Iran, initiated by Washington, in recent days but nothing that reached the level of full on negotiations, a senior Iranian source tells me. Messages have been received through various intermediaries to scope out whether an agreement to end the war, which is now in its fourth week, could be reached. The proposals being looked at are aimed not merely at achieving a ceasefire, but a concrete agreement to end the conflict between the US and Iran, the source added without going into further detail. The source refused to comment on US President Trump‘s public statements on the outreach and emphasized Iran's position has been always clear that Iran is ready to consider any viable proposal to deceively put an end to this war of choice imposed on Iran. The source said Iran is not asking for a meeting or direct talks with the United States but is willing to listen if a plan for a sustainable deal comes within reach that would preserve the national interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran. While Iran is ready to provide all the necessary guarantees that it will never develop nuclear weapons but is entitled to peaceful use of nuclear technology. The source stated that any propsal has to also include termination of all sanctions imposed on the Iranian people. @cnni @CNN
