@PirateSoftware blatant scam from the start, likely only had a fraction of the people working on the game that was stated, overly ambitious goals riding the coattails of archeage 10 years ago. if you actually had 200 people working on a game you would think a viable product would be had.

We talked about Ashes of Creation a ton today on stream and the following situation feels like genuine malice.
On the Kickstarter for the game it says:
"And finally, in the case that Ashes of Creation does NOT launch, we promise to refund all backers in full."

Ashes of Creation recently "Launched" into Early Access on Steam. Does this "Launch" count as completion of that requirement on Kickstarter? If so then all of the backers are shit out of luck.

Incredibly sad to confirm the news that Ashes of Creation has shut down. So many hours by so many talented developers down the drain. And another MMO we'll never get.
We all saw the writing on the wall when it came to Steam... Just wish the project leads had been more transparent with the community about the situation. Terrible for all involved. 😔
