Jonathan Fisher, The Australian Uranium Guy
CHINA'S INVESTMENT AND WHAT AUSTRALIA STANDS TO LOSE (and why #uranium is a major opportunity!) $CXU Leading Aussie think tank the @LowyInstitute has just released an analysis on China’s strategic emerging dominance of key commodity supply chains, highlighting the scale of China’s outbound investment in the global minerals sector, with more than US$120bn deployed across mining, processing and supply chains. The strategy is clear: secure long-term access to critical resources while also building control over downstream processing and value-added stages. Australia WILL be IMPACTED by this. IRON ORE is the clearest example. China’s investment in Simandou in Guinea is aimed at diversifying supply away from the Pilbara. Over time, this is likely to increase global supply and place downward pressure on iron ore prices. WA is the world’s largest iron ore exporter and heavily reliant on those royalties, hence this  presents a MAJOR structural risk. A sustained decline in iron ore prices WILL have direct implications for state revenues and broader economic settings. At the same time, global competition for other critical minerals is intensifying, particularly in commodities linked to the energy transition. This reinforces the importance of diversification. This is where Uranium can help. With growing recognition of nuclear’s role in achieving net zero, demand for uranium is skyrocketing at the same time as bifurcation in the market is increasing. The collective “West” needs much more high ESG uranium, from strategically aligned nations. An amazing opportunity for WA – jobs, diversification, royalties, and a good feeling knowing we are supplying the worlds most concentrated form of green energy to our trading partners, to help them achieve their decarbonisation objectives. From my experience, the public is very much SUPPORTIVE of a uranium industry in WA. All we need is for the government to reflect the view of the majority. Whats your view? Very well said and straight to the point. If only someone was able to fund an ad campaign that relentlessly drilled this into the minds of voters each and every week until election day afr.com/policy/economy…

It might be a good time to watch my webinar from 10 days ago where I looked at what sectors to be avoiding, and which ones to be investing in. Spoiler alert: I reiterated my view that energy would be the standout sector of 2026. #asx #smsf #ausbiz #investing

@CxuAsx I’d be happy to catch up next time you’re in Sydney for a beer and hear more about what you have to say. I’ve been very bullish on the sector in general for a few years now and tell anyone who will listen that uranium should be the best performer this year. Cheers.

Seems like everyone is saying that the sell-off in tech stocks due to AI fears is overdone. If I was holding still holding tech stocks, which I'm not, then I'd be a seller. It is still a crowded trade that is heading the wrong way #asx #smsf #ausbiz #investing
