@x7rocks @burgeoisiee It has gotten a lot better. I remember many years ago when I would advocate for indie racing games, it was like pulling teeth to get people to care. Nowadays, more YouTubers are covering them, and it seems indie racers get WAY more attention.

racing game players can be so picky and choosey and miserable. racings games are a dying genre and forza is the most accessible arcade racer that isn't mariokart brother. it's a game that will create new car people. Forza's success only breathes life into the genre.

@burgeoisiee As much as I'm not really excited for FH6, I definitely agree with this. I can only imagine the state of the arcade racing genre if we didn't have Forza Horizon and / or NFS. We already lost enough series and losing even one of the remaining AAA series would cripple the genre...

I like the driving in GTA 4, but its certainly whiplash to see how many people just praise it like crazy when I remember it got A LOT of criticism back in the day. What changed?

It does look concerning, but I'd be curious to see what the actual sales numbers are since its hard to gauge it from just player counts and reviews. We used to rather accurate ownership numbers from Steam, but they had changed something a while back that messed this up.

Screamer hasn't been a hit out of the gate, with middling word of mouth and a very low player count for a new release. A sign of the times in terms of the appetite for full-price AAA arcade racing games that aren't Horizon; or a confused release strategy from Milestone?

@RohanKarMooN Eh, GTA 4's vehicle physics are not really sim-like. If anything, it's over exaggerated 'realism'. Suspensions in particular are too soft and causes a lot of body roll even on sports cars. Brake power was also very lackluster. I like the driving in GTA 4, but it has downsides too

In GTA IV, you had to learn how to drive because it had sim-like vehicle physics. If it's too "bad" for you, then GTA V's other side pal where the vehicles basically drives in baby mode.
