@shawndgarner My main thought is that software engineers must think like businessmen too. For example, when proposing a plan to the business, consider the impact to the company’s bottom line - not only technical concerns.

@Gentmen I am interested in hearing more. I have seen startups in different phases of funding, a Nasdaq, or Dow all have different short and long term affects.

A shareholder, driven software engineer, makes decisions based on how it will impact the stock price.
