Why are we not allowing more players into the internet space to drive down data costs in South Africa? 🤔 Even if people have reservations about @Starlink or Elon Musk, surely the bigger goal should be affordable, reliable internet for everyone. Competition lowers prices, that’s basic economics. Right now, millions are still offline or stuck with expensive, unstable connections… but we’re busy gatekeeping the very solutions that could fix it? At what point do we choose progress over politics? 🇿🇦

@jkenney Orban is his friend because he keeps buying energy from him? The new guy just said the same thing today siting energy costs. He also said his opting out of the EU "loan" to Ukraine so what does that make him?

Putin is a weak loser. He just lost his closest European ally. He lost his dictator friends in Venezuela and Syria. His allies in the Iranian theocracy are in tatters. His stooges lost elections in Moldova & Romania. He lost the support of Armenia, and it’s only a matter of time before the Georgian people throw off their corrupt pro Putin regime. He lost his effort to stop NATO expansion, pushing Finland & Sweden into the alliance. He has lost over 1.3 million Russians to battlefield casualties. And now he is losing his war against Ukraine, falling back in many areas & controlling less Ukrainian territory than he did 4 years ago.

Hey @elonmusk, I have a question...WHY do you want so badly to invest in South Africa??? What makes you so keen to do business in a country that you consider so corrupt and murderous? Make it make sense. Please.

@Manucius @Markosonke1 @Starlink Ok, we will wait for another 30 years for MTN and Vodacom to get them connected. They so far behind on the promised quota from when their licenses where issued that it might take 50 years.

Wait… so you’re telling me Elon has to be black to operate Starlink in South Africa when millions of people there desperately need internet?! By SA law, foreign companies like Starlink has to hand over 30% equity to “historically disadvantaged individuals” (Black South Africans) just to get an ICASA license. AKA, Starlink is not allowed to operate in South Africa bc he’s not black… Starlink is NOT going to dilute ownership like that fyi. It’s crazy this is all happening while rural SA is stuck with garbage connectivity like fixed broadband in only ~15% of homes, schools and farms are suffering, while this technology is already LIVE and operating in 20+ other African countries, with zero drama. This backwards race-quota BS is hurting the exact people this technology was supposed to help! Stop this fuckery and get South Africa connected!

@WorldByWolf If you follow daily reports you will realize they are approaching the last two strongholds in the Donetsk region. Other areas they have past. If you look at the progress over this year they are gradually moving forward. Drone warfare has changed the optics of a war.

The Ukraine War has been finished since Autumn 2022. It’s at a stalemate. Ukraine is not going to take back the oblasts they’ve lost. Russia is unlikely to gain much more territory unless they’re willing to endure millions more casualties. The truly tragic part of this war is that once the war is over Ukraine is finished. It will be in the hands of the globalists. It will be flooded with immigrants and the entire country will be purchased by US asset managers. It’s a tragic end for a proud country and one that was entirely avoidable had we just accepted the Donbas was lost in 2022 and cut a peace deal to that effect. Ukrainians have been used as cannon fodder for the Americans to test run their military hardware and software. Used like rats in a tragic experiment. Britain should be ashamed of our role.

This is what running a small business in South Africa looks like: You're asked: How much of your business is owned by black youth? How much is owned by the black disabled? How much is owned by black woman? An insane racial bureaucracy designed to displace mostly White people.

@Paulo_jose911 @realRobertCK @ori0n7 As a example if you own a guest house and Exxaro want to use your facility. They request BEE statues. If you dont have or score low they will procure the services from a guest house that does have. Scoring is harder in tourism sector since you get punished two levels for no owner

This form does not give ownership to anyone. It only declares what already exists in your business. This form is used if you want to do business with the government etc. it does not create transfer or force of ownership. you are deliberately misleading and misinforming. And this is coming from a South African, you sir, are disgraceful.

@Paulo_jose911 @realRobertCK @ori0n7 This form might not but when your own suppliers start asking your your status to see if they can procure from you to keep their own points up since they doing business with government it starts affecting every business.

@realRobertCK The extra issue is that private companies require the BEE status as well so they can keep their own procurement points up. In the end you get caught in a large spider web limiting your capability to do business.

Elon Musk
Elon Musk@elonmusk·
South Africa won’t allow Starlink to be licensed, even though I was BORN THERE, simply because I am not Black! We were offered many times the opportunity to bribe our way to a license by pretending that a Black guy runs Starlink SA, but I have refused to do so on principle. Racism should not be rewarded no matter to which race it is applied. Shame on the racist politicians in South Africa. They should be shown no respect whatsoever anywhere in the world and shunned for being unashamedly RACISTS!
DogeDesigner@cb_doge

Why Elon Musk is RIGHT to fight South Africa’s racist rules blocking Starlink? Imagine this: Long ago, South Africa had very unfair laws called apartheid. They treated Black people badly and kept them from good jobs and money. When those bad laws ended, the country made new rules (called B-BBEE) to help Black people get a fair share of business. The idea was good – like a big helping hand. But now? For companies like Starlink to sell fast internet, they MUST give away 30% of their business to Black partners. Just because of skin color. Elon Musk was born in South Africa. He left as a teen to chase big dreams. Today, his company SpaceX wants to bring Starlink – super fast satellite internet – to South Africa. But the rules say no unless they give up part of the company. Elon said it right: “Starlink is not allowed because I’m not Black.” SpaceX promised to spend about $30 million (that’s 500 million rand!) to give FREE high-speed internet to 5,000 rural schools. That helps over 2.4 MILLION kids every year learn better, get jobs later, and have a brighter future. Real help for the people who need it most! Starlink already works in about 24 other African countries. Villages there now have internet for school, doctors, and business. South Africa’s villages are missing out because of these racist rules. Elon isn’t asking for special favors. He just wants fair play so Starlink can connect everyone fast. Internet = education, jobs, hope. Why hold back millions of kids over rules that pick by race and color?

@pushinM15 @Write4Republic Its not only foreign companies. All local companies that want to do business with the state have to have the 30%. Then in turn companies that deal with those companies also have to have it. It has become a big web now.

An American voice: “Listen up, Trump, and every dumb f... in Washington who still thinks the Strait of Hormuz is some kind of American parking lot. This aint international waters. Never was. Never will be. Under the law of the sea, every coastal country gets twelve nautical miles of its own goddamn territorial water. The narrowest choke point in Hormuz is only twenty one miles wide. That means Iran and Oman own the whole fucking strait from shore to shore. Overlapping. Locked. Closed. No high seas. No open ocean free for all. Iran controls the big islands too, Qeshm, Hormuz, Larak, Abu Musa, the whole chain. You sail through, you are in somebody elses house. Iran never even signed that UNCLOS treaty, so they dont have to play your transit passage game. They say innocent passage and they mean it. You bring guns or you bring trouble, they can say no. America starts wars because it never learned geography in school. They  bomb first, read the map later. Before you drag us into another bloodbath, open a f...ing atlas. The water belongs to the land that touches it. Not to the country that prints the most dollars. Learn it now or bleed for it later.

It’s better to flee if you can. That’s always the better option, if possible. By not fleeing, you run the risk of a self-defense argument getting watered down. Run (if others are safe), and contact law enforcement. Live to see another day. Police and prosecutors won’t always think you’re the good guy. Frankly, some will look to railroad you. Let the justice system take care of him.
