TRENDING: This video of Tennessee #Titans first-round pick pass rusher Keldric Faulk has gone viral across social media.
One of the weirdest interviews you will see immediately after a player is selected.

We have never seen anything like this.

@jensheii @wholesomefoxx Because I don’t think he learns his lesson and that shit was serious enough to warrant jail time. Regardless I don’t believe we should be celebrating as if he was exonerated or falsely accused which is what I see from fellow fans.

@kingju88 @Ghost730360 @MarkZinno Wanting a violent criminal to face consequences instead of continuing to make millions in the nfl isn’t calling for someone’s life to be over. It’s calling for accountability and punishment where it’s deserved.

Let's be clear on the James Pearce Jr. situation. Two things can easily be true here:
1) My personal stance on what he was alleged to have done was simple. I thought it was disgusting. I think that the mere appearance of impropriety when it comes to domestic violence is enough for me to think you are a piece of trash the rest of your life. It's unforgivable to me. That's my opinion. Why? Because in my entire adult life I've never even been close to that situation ever materializing. It's really a VERY easy situation to stay away from.
2) Pearce beating the case this easily was something I didn't think would happen. I didn't think the level of the charges were going to be swept under the rug so easily. I was wrong there. Good lawyers I suppose ... 🤷🏽♂️. I thought he wouldn't play again, nor the Falcons would retain him. I was wrong there too (it looks like).
I'm allowed to think he's a bad dude who did a bad thing. I'm also allowed to believe he COULD become a better person in time. I don't know the answer to the second part. I supposed time will tell. As for the #Falcons, they can choose what they want. They have to live with those decisions. Not me.
English

@CWilliamsMuse7 @avy3n Or it didn’t happen like the way yall thought bxtch
English

@marcraimondi @TheFalcoholic He jammed her car twice si that's intent to harm.
The fact someone wasn't hurt was luck NOT his intent not to harm.

Regarding James Pearce Jr. ...
Miami-Dade County assistant state attorney Andres Perez, the prosecutor, conferred with Rickea Jackson and law-enforcement officers and “all parties consented” that pretrial intervention was “the best way forward,” per state attorney spokesperson Ed Griffith.
Perez considered that Pearce was a first-time offender without history of violence, no one was hurt and “it appears this incident was borne out of a mental health crisis.”

@CadeGlazer @tish________ @HeartThrobZena Most intelligent comment I’ve seen this far!!! Most of them ran with a narrative and made up a story in their heads before knowing any damn thing!
English

@tish________ @HeartThrobZena I kept telling them to stop making up facts in their heads bc I knew they were going to be disappointed when the case was resolved based on the actual facts.
The cops, DA, and victim never alleged that he “tried to kill” her. Thus, this result. They need to leave her tf alone.
English

@TheFalcoholic Thank you for the explanation on this. Was genuinely asking
English

@Ghost730360 Only 5-8% of criminal charges in the U.S. go to diversion programs or are dismissed outright, and most felony cases never go to these programs. I'm not opposed to people getting these opportunities, but the reality is not many do
English

Per @AndySlater, James Pearce Jr. will have all of his charges dismissed if he completes a state-mandated program that includes therapy
A suspension from the NFL still feels likely

@kingju88 @MarkZinno Exactly!! Man these people was on here being judge and juror and don’t know at all what happened.
English

@MarkZinno Maaaaaan stfu you wasn’t there dude you don’t know wtf happen or what happen at all just on the internet rambling about another man situation. You just learned a lot from this case. 1. Stfu mind yo business. 2. Stfu mind yo business.
English

@Ghost730360 @TheFalcoholic Mutiple felony offences of stalking, harrassment and battery, as well as fleeing police and the various traffic violations, so yeah
The whole season
Give him time away from the game to work on what he needs to do to complete the court program
English

@TheFalcoholic How do you all know this for certain? Y’all know other people in these exact situations??? How is it know that other people don’t get to get second chances like Pearce?
English

@TheFalcoholic I understand the organisation letting the legal process take its course, but I'm hopeful it gets out ahead of the NFL and stands him down for the coming season
Otherwise, there's a reputational risk imo to just letting the league sort out the punishment
English

@herlilself23 @BKsquared7 Agreed! He definitely lost his cool and crashed out. Better be a lesson for him
English

@Ghost730360 @BKsquared7 At the end of the day the situation was ridiculous and it still doesnt look good! Great for him... now stay out of trouble!
English

@chickenmanigus @BKsquared7 @herlilself23 Fuk you bxtch! Just cause I said people should let the system play out??? It must’ve happened to your grandpa bxtch

Essentially, James Pearce's case will be put on hold while he completes the pre-trial intervention. If conditions are met, charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, fleeing and eluding police and resisting an officer with violence to his or her person will be dropped.
Ian Rapoport@RapSheet
The NFL says it has been "closely monitoring all developments" in the matter surrounding #Falcons edge James Pearce Jr. Earlier today, Pearce entered into a six-month pre-trial intervention program that, if conditions are met, will result in all charges being dismissed, per attorneys Jacob Nunez and Yale Sanford. This agreement was made in consultation with the city of Doral and the victim, Rickea Jackson. There is no jail time and no admission of guilt.
English

@KingSteve1987 @AndySlater Only because "the state attorney's office and agreed to this."
He's still cooked as far as longevity in the league especially based on how many teams passed on drafting him and this incident.
English

SLATER SCOOP: Falcons' James Pearce Jr. will have all of his charges dismissed if he completes a program offered to him by the state of Florida, I've learned.
While details are still being worked out, Pearce Jr. would have to attend therapy sessions and stay out of trouble over a six-month period.
His attorney, Yale Sanford, tells me the victim, Rickea Jackson, and the police officers in this case spoke to the state attorney's office and agreed to this as well.

English

@KingSteve1987 @AndySlater Exactly!! I wish people will learn to let things play out!!!
English

@AndySlater LMAOOOOOOO so where's all the "JPJ is cooked" "Hes going to prison" "He will never play football again" ass mufuckas at?
