Today, the EU Migration Pact officially comes into effect. Poland gets a one-year exemption because it has already taken in millions of refugees from Ukraine. At least Ukrainians are culturally closer to Poles and have integrated relatively well. But don't worry — in a year, we'll be expected to do our "fair share" and accept migrants and asylum seekers relocated from other European countries. Poland remains one of the last safe, stable, and sovereign nations in Europe. Apparently, that's a problem that needs fixing. We're told this is solidarity. Others might call it importing the consequences of policies we never chose. What a brilliant plan. So here's my advice: Enjoy Poland while it still feels like Poland. Take photos. Make memories. One day, you may want to show future generations what it used to look like before Brussels decided it knew better.
