How did #Match2024 shake out for applicants to the House of Radiology? The approx match rate for US MD seniors was 87% (73% for all applicants), which improved from last year at 81% (67% all applicants). Congratulations, future #radres!

ATTENTION (1/2): We are excited to announce that WCVIS is hosting a virtual educational session on "Y90 Radioembolization for Glioblastoma Multiforme" by @johnboockvar, Vice Chair of Neurosurgery at Lenox Hill hospital! This session will be hosted on 12/06/23 at 2:00-2:45 PM PST.

This was a two year passion project to put together a truly collaborative, multidisciplinary, and hopefully valuable resource for all those involved in preventing leg amputations which is often related to diabetes, smoking, kidney disease and other causes. This was an attempt to step away from the pressures from medical societies, healthcare systems, egos and other forces which have not resulted in quality care and amputation prevention for our patients. Hopefully this will add to the efforts happening around the world by those of us that are more interested in working together, and not against each other. A heartfelt sincere thanks to all my fellow >60 co-authors in this book, who are experts from all the different specialties and around the globe. Also to an incredible #Irad resident @AeshaPatel_1225 for a mountain of help in accomplishing this. Efforts like this are how we can tip the needle in the patient’s favor. We hope trainees from all disciplines can learn from this, and more importantly learn to work together as well. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

@KYanceyMD I was lucky to spend last week with @KYanceyMD on MSK Radiology and can strongly attest to the effectiveness of this! The perfect way to be engaged and feel like part of the team as a med student in the reading room 🩻

My approach to teaching medical students as an R1: 1. Follow-up on their reading and emphasize cases that align with it to make it more meaningful. 2. We tag team cases! 3. I let them dictate a few on their own. 4. I’m honest about my gaps in knowledge. We’re learning together!
