@Headteacherchat We have just started to implement @nikkigamble ‘s Reading Journey app which fosters strong reading communities without the need for extrinsic motivators-but which allows teachers and parents to celebrate chns reading.

Anon post I am looking to implement a reward system for KS1 readers. Ideally, something that celebrates each time they finish a book and can be displayed to show their progress. Does anyone have tried-and-tested ideas or examples that work well in practice?

I've never really understood why other subjects should dictate what the next class book is. Books should be selected because they'll make the children gasp, laugh, cry, think and empathise, not because there's some heavily contrived link to Squirrels & Submarines. #Edutwitter

After a bit of a hiatus on X, I return with an autumnal-looking front cover of a brilliant book, finished today after our @CILIPSLG committee meeting. It was such a good read-perfect as the nights draw in-a rich mix of history, suspense magical fantasy and lots to think about🌰🍂
